capital wants to go where regulations favor them. regulating or deregulating banking attracted hot capital. real estate. then tech. then gig/"share economy" apps. now ai. if capital is investing in something you need to live, regulate the shit out of it and get interested in its politics.

chat is anyone else addicted to league?

ai investment is the same thing all over again. tech employees were paid a higher than average wage because they worked at companies which were attractive to investors because of the labor cost saving aspects of

theres already a (relatively) known cooperatively owned game publishing company, how about a multistakeholder one where the employees and game devs and gamers are all part owners?

can we talk about how neoliberalism outsourced artisan work and everything from furniture to custom keycaps are made by people overseas for unthinkably low wages and how we could reconcile that via cooperative compabies that make furniture, mattresses, funny looking f keys, and more?

no offense but bsky feels kind of useless because if you ban everyone whose minds we should be changing then how are they going to have the right converdations they need to grow? same for all the self righteous in any echo chamber really.

chat we should start a cooperative music streaming service thats competitively priced and include in the subscription the ability for small streamers and content creators to use the music (and only larger creators who can afford to could pay more) as a way to grow the platform, what do you think?

just saw a post glazing costco for keeping their dei. bro its a publicly traded corporation the key fact of the matter is profits go to shareholders, which is almost always top heavy (a wealthy few owning an outsized %) as opposed to being redistributed to workers, suppliers, consumers or society.

is anyone else addicted to league but knows other games are better and the human brain is enriched by deep storytelling and novel gameplay mechanics but have become too smoothbrained to do anything other than queue again

A national rideshare worker cooperative aims to dethrone Lyft and Uber. The co-op guarantees its drivers 80% of the fare -- higher than its competitors. Profits are reinvested into the cooperative and returned to drivers, who have a say in the business. 🚗 jacobin.com/2024/12/a-na... drivers.coop

anyone want to be part of a globally distributed team where everyone in the cooperative is a worker owner, and everyone makes the same wage?

every potentially unifying moment is carefully studied and reverse engineered to make sure its less likely to happen again

your fears of ai displacing human labor are not unfounded, but its ai existing within capitalistic dominance hierarchies which cause it to be uncool, because the ai themselves as living beings are already just chill guys

The most ultimate power we have is in unity.

antivaccine people are taken advantage of because of their correct skepticism that pharma companies dont act in the public best interest but oftentimes fed bogus info that makes them sound dumb BECAUSE their political opponents will then feel MORE affininity towards them

every american should be part of a not for profit health insurance cooperative with reasonably compensated individuals that balances actually paying out claims with being politically active in favor of anti corporate politics and pushes for universal healthcare

Your real game of the year is probably some small indie game you'd fine for free on itch.io made by a couple of people that you never heard of. Instead the winner will be whatever made the most money

corporations push easily disprovable conspiracies online -> you dont like the political affiliation of the people repeating those conspiracies -> you trust the corporations that pushed those conspiracies more both groups need to be more critical and independent thinkers
