I’d love to see his work. I have a lot of Ito’s books and they are brilliantly unhinged in subject matter and art.

I agree. A lot of horror places it in our world, a familiar space, even if the subject of our fear is foreign to that. These images are entirely skewed, hallucinatory, unfamiliar yet having enough semblance for us to relate even if in an uncomfortable way. Thanks for sharing!

Really interesting, unique and, yes, unsettling. I was going to say creepy or disturbing but then the artist suggests they might be divinely inspired so thought “unsettling” more apt. Given that, do you think it still qualifies as horror art? I myself am a fan of Junji Ito, so this appeals to me.

Some of my favorite artists are on your label! Great indie selections. Crazy good sales. (And supporting worthy causes!) The total package! Keep it coming. 😊

Thanks, and I wish you well whatever path you take. I’m grateful self publishing gives writers an alternative to the exclusivity of the traditional route.

Are you self published? I fully expect to go that route, given the state of traditional publishing and how I expect my novels to not adhere to professional expectations.

Same. I’m drawn to expose dark chapters of human history, partly as eulogy, partly as cautionary tale, and maybe because, even then (or especially then), there is dignity and heroism to be found.
Best wishes for your TTRPG and writing in general! Follow your passion.

Olafur Darri Olafsson has become one of my fave actors since The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Besides his laconic looming menace in Severance, he’s also excellent as an enigmatic love interest in Somebody Somewhere, a threatening presence in The Tourist, and a sympathetic scientist in La Palma.
