he/him. A FFXIV player for about two years! Primarily roleplaying, but love G-Posing and raiding still. Love me some other games and whatnot as well, yap at me!
Hoping to start a good, positive pattern here.

Rekobato's obsession with longsword fighting came from an adventuring partner. She watched him grab his sword by the blade, drive it's crossguard into a crab beast like a pickaxe, and found it so insanely cool that she took up the longsword herself and half-swords with it as much as she can.

Oh I absolutely /adore/ this one. Great dustcloud editing, focus framing, simple details and color palettes. Great work, keep it up.

Honestly it's crazy listening to the rest of Fleetwood Mac's songs cause... pretty much all of it is just really samey happy joy joy meh stuff.
But then they have only the two really REALLY good, creative songs. And - yeah, you got it. They're from sad places lmao.

As an addition to this conversation:
Borderlands 2 has a LOT of variety you can do with that game. But I suggest two improvements:
- The Community Patch does a LOT of work buffing slack options.
- Completely bar yourself from Moxxi weapons. It revalidates THE REST of the games healing options.

OH. THIS IS THE STUFF I LOVE. MAGNIFICO.
I've done a shot like this myself but I went for anxiety. You got the /lonely/ part downright perfect. Hell, even the main character here is enshrouded and 'away' from us. I love this. Reskeeted.

Cosmodread is actually a really nice sort of random-gem horror space game. Enough crafting mechanics and actual environmental interaction.
Jet Island is probably the most amazing movement game I've ever played.
There's a couple that aren't like, 'the usual big ones'.

If you don't already, drag out an image editor!
I like to take two /or maybe even three/ differently-lit shots of a pose, so I can combine and more finely control where the shadows go on the final result.

Oh. My friend. This is utterly /gorgeously/ placed lighting. Such sharp contract, but everything is so clear.
Loving this.

He doesn't know.
N'awh but for real /usually/ is still polite about cutsceners, but all it takes is one dude out of 23 to be a jerk about it unfortunately. CT has a /lot/ of things stacked against it.

So I can't tell my love for this game in 300 characters, so I do apologize for the image text dump. But it boils down to Outer Wilds telling a story in such a phenomenal way that other artistic mediums aren't capable of.
My only regret is that I can't play it for the first time ever again.

N'ah I mean pick one of them and I'll elaborate that one for yah. Each of them has pretty good drastic reasons from another!

I'll do yah one better. Pick one of these. It's a collage of my top nine favourites, and pick which one catches your eye. (Except the top right. Kinda fell outta love with that game and I need to get around to updating this picture.)

It's a difficult question because the reasons for any one game are different genre to genre, game to game, etc. etc. You'd have to pick one, and start asking there.
To compare to movies, you wouldn't love Mission Impossible for the same reasons you'd love Asmodeus. But they can both deeply connect.

Advice: The gameplay is as its best when you engage with the core concept of an apocalyptic delivery man trying his best. GET those extra packages. Risk that extra weight. Plan out your route and equipment for what you've got.
If you just 'go through it' as easily as possible, it'll feel very lame.
