Let’s be clear. When the President defies the Supreme Court, it is the role of Congress to remove him from office. Full stop.

Remember when your kid went through their unicorn sticker phase, putting unicorn stickers on everything in the house while you were trying to figure out where they even got that many unicorn stickers? This is that.

Lost in the chaos and illegality: Trump again boasts of (allegedly) passing a dementia screening test. Only this time he's added quite a bit of flair to the story... www.unchartedblue.com/trump-boasts...

Sounds like Ensign is going to go right back to SCOTUS to try and block these depositions, so we may find out real quick what that "unanimous" opinion that govt can't disappear people is worth.

Pete Hegseth adviser Dan Caldwell marched out of the Pentagon, put on leave for leaking military info, you say? I wonder what will become of him.

The Trumpers went from a conspiracy theory about Fort Knox being empty because somebody stole all the gold to "we need to sell the gold in Fort Knox so we can buy Bitcoin" in ... how long was that?

Left: Reanimated Egyptian mummy. Right: Undying Irish vampire who dabbles in day trading. Center: Hapless dumbass they're both about to snack on.

I heard a drunk guy shout "Tom Homan is the leader of MS-13. He is their kingpin. He sells cocaine inside the White House" and I'm willing to testify to that if it'll put Homan on a plane to a Central American torture prison.

As to how this could happen, suppose somebody was using non-govt-secured devices to do sensitive govt work—say, to share info on Signal. Foreign spies would naturally target those people, might gain access to those devices, and could then track everything happening in 'near real-time'. For example.

In past years this sort of billionaire publicity stunt probably would have been brushed off but in 2025 it seems much more an expression of contempt for the non-rich, our problems, and our futures. Lavish reality shows by the rich, for the rich as fascism paves over everything else.

Canadians, please understand that we Californians consider Gavin Newsom to be a smarmy and ideologically unstable self-promoter and not only will we not feel bad if you don't follow his advice, we'll be actively disappointed in you if you do.

The wildly inexperienced hackers a crime-endorsing white nationalist billionaire hired solely for their perceived willingness to do stupid crimes seem to have been committing a lot of stupid crimes.

This is a really good point, and you can see it everywhere. Covid made Americans crazy. From school board meetings to air travel to _everything_, suddenly public interactions became much more paranoid, xenophobic, and rage-filled, and it still hasn't gone away.

One way to make disinformation more persuasive is to demolish real information. Trump admin is doing exactly that, particularly, but far from exclusively, on climate & energy. Trump’s EPA Plans to Stop Collecting Greenhouse Gas Emissions Data From Most Polluters  www.nytimes.com/section/clim...

Good work NPR, you made me crazy again. Republican students have always been able to speak out, and the _only_ repercussion was that someone might talk back. The "expanded ability" they're celebrating now is that masked agents may disappear anyone who does. So ... eat shit, ya little freaks.

Come on, DoJ, how hard can it be to find someone willing to sign their name to a load of absolute bullshit that blatantly ignores court orders in front of a judge already hinting that holding officials in contempt is the likely next step here.

This, from the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

It's neat how many individual nation-collapsing crises we can have each and every day. Let's all do our best, 'kay? www.unchartedblue.com/how-to-survi...

There will be no restoration of a constitutional republic until he is not only removed from power but repudiated as having never legitimately held it. The system simply can't fit back together again without that. You can't shatter the foundation to this degree and then try to rebuild on top of it.

Also nobody should forget that Fox News continues to act as disinformation outlet actively pushing for the destruction of American democracy and they should be treated as such.

Pretty much everyone now understands that Republican electeds are so corrupt that they'll back any and every betrayal of American rights and values. There's no longer speculation that patriotic R's might join with Dems to bar Trump's worst criminality; it's taken as a given that there aren't any.

There's no legal wiggle room on this question. If SCOTUS abides a plan to spirit US citizens into foreign regimes to put them beyond the reach of our courts, it doesn't make the plan legitimate. It makes SCOTUS illegitimate.

The doctor, big guy with tears in his eyes, told me I had the least dementia of anyone he'd ever met. How can anyone not have dementia as much as you don't have dementia, he said, and then he turned into a squirrel and ran up my pant leg.

The next question is what SCOTUS will do now that it's clear this whole plan is meant to disappear ppl without trial, by which I mean we now wait to see a new unsigned opinion saying it's ok to disappear people without trial. It's not even a big stretch for the Roberts court.

Not the main point but look at the tackiness of this room now. I'm surprised Donald isn't demanding his visitors spray their faces gold before entering.

Okay sure it's infuriating but also deeply funny. Sure, give Dear Leader's adult failson a fishin' show. The Trumps' grandest desire is still, after all this, to be reality tv stars.

I'm a lawyer and this is correct. Straight line of "blatantly illegal constitutional end-runs to violate human rights" from Iran–Contra to Gitmo to CECOT paved by the only consequences the perpetrators suffering being more money, more power, and more prestige.

This is an argument crafted to appeal to SCOTUS' asinine claims that presidential powers are so sacrosanct that courts aren't allowed to even question possible criminality, something John Roberts pulled out of his ass to keep Trump from going to prison last year.

Don't do this. Don't sanewash the obvious incompetence/incoherence of Trump's actions with purely speculative reporting on what might happen if his provably incompetent aides magically turned competent and Trump himself magically let them negotiate deals without sabotaging each of them for funsies.

More fodder for the theory that these oscillating tariff announcements are meant mostly to allow White House insiders and allies to game the markets. Every time a new policy is announced, within a day or to it turns out to be Not That.

When Trump pardoned his violent Jan 6 allies, he should have been removed from office right there. That Republicans did not and still are not shows that they have abandoned America completely.

The Democrats should be running on not just a promise to imprisoned. Trump is and everyone within the White House and his administration but also that the wealth classes time has come and it’s time to end their ability to work as forces of anti-democracy and recuperate the losses they’ve caused.

It is very good question and one I’ve been asking for months. If there is an international agreement with El Salvador for these renditions, the Trump administration is legally required under the Case-Zablocki Act to share it with Congress. To my knowledge, they have not done so.

The Democrats who seek to play ball with the would be dictator in the White House and his team are disqualified as leaders of the party. Now and always. Period. Those who are candidates again must be challenged and defeated. For the country’s sake. There can be no compromises with tyranny.

New Mexico made child care free for most families. Believe it or not, the good thing is good. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
