Thank you for the food for thought. This is what I love about Anarchists, lots of thought put into things in general.

However, you make a really, REALLY good point. I'm only continuing my arguments to explore my own perspective, rooted in my experiences.

If we take away all structures, they will oppress each other on a micro scale anyway, through crime. Systemic oppression is solved, but now we're infighting like animals.

Not necessarily, if we're going off of UR fascism points the republic doesn't really tick any boxes en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ur-Fasc...

My critique of anarchism is that, while the government is flawed, it is because of people. Why trust the same people who made a bad government to govern themselves? The situation just repeats itself.

Well everyone else's argument seems to boil down to "well they have cops so they're fascist" which like... That's not how it works 💀 My favorite fascist country, Norway 🗿 What's the point of laws if there is no enforcement? People cannot be trusted.

The Muuns were real ones tho Star Wars faction I want to join? The banking clan. They have it gooooooooooood.

Yes I do, I just blew my entire monthly gaming budget on Battlefront II for $5

No, I didn't forget that at all. I'd also like to tap the Starfleet sign again, they certainly had cops too.

I guess my question here is "by what metric" Because the Republic's flaws prior to the war weren't fascism, it was simple, good ol apathy.
comment in response to post
If the bar for fascism is "every country that has a standing army" than fucking Starfleet is fascist 😭

Good Lord what are they putting in the water supply these days Depends on what era you're talking about. Because the first few years of the Clone Wars, absolutely not. After that point, where Palpatine instates his policies that take more control? You have an argument.
comment in response to post
You're the one missing the point of the clone wars regarding the individuality of the soldiers and the dramatic irony that they are slaves just like the droids of the CIS 😭
comment in response to post
Congrats, you just described Stormtroopers and not clone troopers. Try again?

Unsurprisingly, asking for people to be tried for human rights violations is not violence.

I'm gonna bust(er Gundam)

I'd argue that's a fault of George Lucas, because he always saw him as a coward, while Dave wanted him to be cooler.

I did not know about the fake detail holy crap 😭 Insane to think Isis has a department, however small, churning out fake artifacts.

Not a knock on anyone, just a thought that popped in my head to be explored further later, if I remember it haha.

You know, this point got me thinking about the moral laundering of tax money. It's kinda like a firing squad, where one random blank is loaded into one executioner's gun, so they all have clarity of conscience, because"it certainly wasn't me"? Same thing for tax dollars, "my money didn't fund ICE."
comment in response to post
Your McDonald's money does too. Pretty sure they were getting boycotted.
comment in response to post
Last I checked, the BDS boycott was that Microsoft was a close partner of Israel, not that money you paid went to them. Also, it's Microsoft, do you really need a reason to boycott them?

Chick Fil A funds conversation therapy camps and Hobby Lobby technically funds terrorist organizations.
