Miriam Kate Williams, or Vulcana (1874 – 946), was a Welsh strongwoman -and hero! At age 13, she stopped a runaway horse in Bristol. She rescued 2 children from drowning in River Usk in 1901. On 1921 the Garrick Theatre in Edinburgh caught fire and she risked her life to save another act's horses.
