Funny that you mentioned the 'bigger and better' phrase, because that doesn't just apply on sequels, but remakes as well.
Particularly live-action remakes of animated movies and shows. They have the mentality that animation is 'for kids' and live-action is 'for grown-ups'.

So far, it's a great game.
It gets time to get used to it. Especially after playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but once you learn how to perform the new tricks like the rail grinding and wall jumping, it feels satisfying.
My issue would be the lack of a map and collectibles list during Free Roaming.
