They also aren’t up for re-election until 2028, so doubtlessly some of them (like Peters who had claimed he was voting no) are covering for someone up for reelection at mid terms that really didn’t want to vote no. 100% correct. The government must be shut down. It’s the only actual card the Senate Dems have to play and they need to play it until the GOP is willing to negotiate. This a hand wringing and wishful “fight for things” bullshit is ineffective and has been for years.
