I wouldn't even say they popularized it. It's used in a radio ad for shortening in the 1939 WJSV full broadcast day you can find online. It feels like the audience is assumed to know the song, and that's about a decade before the Andrews sisters recorded their version.

It is absolutely not originally by the Andrews sisters. The song was around before any of them were even born.

I think thunder and lightning are the biggest thing I miss moving from southwest Ontario to Vancouver Island. It rains all the time, but it never truly pours, and there's just no real thunderstorms. The mountains and ocean are pretty cool, but I miss summer evening storms a lot.

This reminded me about @knittyknits on TikTok, who has a bunch of good videos talking about Harper's meddling in provincial politics, as well as his connections to AWZ and Israeli spying and more.

We're still living in Stephen Harper's demonic creation

Just out of curiosity, can you name one political hero of yours who has a net worth of less than a million?

They literally did use slave labour, though. The US still has legal slavery. This isn't about the GOP vs Dems. The entire system is corrupt and evil. The US is a far right country at it's core.

"Sinema" would have been the perfect assumed last name for a porn producer

They're saying the opposite; that they think the idea it's a social construct is harmful and bad.

Most of what happened during the campaign was small, local events. You're just making excuses now.
comment in response to

There literally a march on Washington happening April 5th, and there are tons of local actions happening everywhere.
You're just demonstrating that if something isn't happening directly in your field of vision, you're incapable of understanding it exists.

Are you under the impression people stopped caring about Gaza when Trump took power? What a bizarre, and obviously false claim...

This is what happens when you form opinions entirely around your own personal experiences, and don't spend any time outside of your own bubble.

What on earth are you even trying to say, this is just nonsense talk

You're an adult using the term "woke" unironically. That is absolutely pathetic.

I genuinely can't imagine how you don't see this as fascist glorification of mass murder.... or you do and you just don't care, and you revel in cruelty and bloodshed.

At this point you're just being evil for the sake of being evil.

This kind of weak attempt at a joke really just confirms that your feelings are genuinely hurt.

You're not even good at being a troll. Your desperation is far too strong, you seem gleeful that you've finally attracted a small amount of attention. Your attempts to antagonize come across as more sad than transgressive.

What "communist doctrine" are you referring to, specifically?
comment in response to

His "philosophy" is largely just a detailed description of capitalism. I think you're confusing Marx for Lenin or something.
Anyway, if you're going to actually get an understanding of what happened with 20th century socialist movements, you should read The Jakarta Method.

You don't have any framework to analyze why they might have voted against their interests because you're just as brainwashed as they are. You can't perceive the reality of class
comment in response to

This is a great example of the American education system, no understanding of the reality of 20th century politics, just cold war brainwashing

The young people you're talking about largely think that Blackrock is "on the left". You need to actually think about that. What have the Dems done to, at the very least, distance themselves from that kind of evil?
comment in response to
post
The irony here is that there are specific, very leftist ideas and messages that the Dems could adopt that would almost certainly change this kind of thing dramatically, but I guarantee you'd rather let Trump have everything he wants than take that approach.

How much does your "progressive success" really means when it ends up being the prologue to a fascist takeover.
Whatever good they did, they've never presented anything resembling a real wide scoping political project looking towards the future, and that's a serious problem.

Good point! The older, the better, I always say.
I don't get all these people who think it's ok to criticize the Democrats, who represent perfect goodness, empathy and morality. We should always support them, even if everything they do leads to loss after loss.

Yeah, when you act like a piece of shit, lots of people come to yell at you. That's how it works. Trying to gloat as though it somehow proves you right is a pathetic and transparent coping mechanism.

You didn't ask me a question though. What would you like to know?
It seems like you have stock phrases to use against people you're arguing against on the internet, but you don't really take the time to think of whether they apply to the situation you're dealing with.

This is comically narcissistic and self-congratulatory. I suspect you spent your school years being bullied, and built a fantasy world about your own grandeur as a coping mechanism.

Yeah, it's made up nonsense, which is why everyone complaining about it is a delusional moron.
I guarantee you've never actually been asked to do anything in the name of "wokeness" but you're still practically giving yourself an aneurysm about it.

We're literally talking about people spreading stupid doom and gloom ideas about "wokeness".
They're making themselves miserable over children's movies.

You didn't question his motive, you questioned his honesty.
You're saying he should have given more grace to reactionaries complaining about "wholeness" in children's movies? Their views *are* less valid. Mocking them is very funny. The fact you're getting mad about that is also pretty funny.
