Week 2 of our industrial action to save jobs at the University of Dundee begins now. Come and join or visit our friendly picket line at the Tower Building, every day from 8am. Here’s what we have achieved in the first week.

I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US. Totally embarrassing.

Nothing much shocks me nowadays but this White House rammy is extraordinary.

Let me make something very clear that the Radio and TV don't seem to know. Donald Trump does not give a toss how much the UK spends on Defence. All he cares is how much of that money is going to him and Elon Musk. So please stop going on about it, because he doesn't care.

Elon Musk is now presiding over the cabinet meeting. They're not beating the co-president allegations. (And co-president might be putting it charitably for Trump.)

If Sir Jim Ratcliffe wore 10 real £40,000 Rolex's on each arm, and they all got stolen, and he went into London every single day. It would take him 5,000 days, 13.7 years, and 100,000 Rolex's to pay back the £4bn he has dodged in taxes.

Read this twice. The world we know is shifting beneath our feet.

Powerful sights on the picket line this morning🪧 @ducuuo.bsky.social Management incompetence has led to £30million deficit. Staff should not pay the price for the university's finical mismanagement.

The activity coming from the Trump administration is consistent with a regime shift away from democracy and toward authoritarianism. It’s important to use this label so people begin to appreciate the gravity and consequences of what’s happening. 1/3 🧵

Hard not to feel like this is going to end exactly as we think. The president of a democratic country is approvingly quoting Napoleon.

Around 400,000 people work in universities across the UK, and more then 200,000 of them are academics. The closures and job losses we’re seeing in the sector just now are a major industrial crises affecting the key workplaces and economic drivers of hundreds of towns and cities.

Word of the day is ‘arsle’ (19th century): to have a distinct sense of going backwards.

There have been some truly awful and egregious headlines on Gaza in the New York Times over the past 16 months but we may have a winner, folks. ‘Gaza Development Plan’

But shall this crazed old man be tamely suffered to drag a whole ship’s company down to doom with him?

British people now dislike Elon Musk more than ever with more than 7 in 10 having an unfavourable opinion of him. Even Reform voters are now turning against him

Delighted to be involved in this new exhibition at University of Dundee.
