Worked in Runcorn and Widnes for 24 years, I think I have only ever seen one burqa. Shit plays well with a certain demographic unfortunately.

I’ve seen warmer smiles on the Crimewatch wall.

Yeah it is strange, not sure what it’s called. Area is a sort of no-man’s land, used to be the estuary until it silted up, hence the weird border. Hoping for a bridge from end of Bumpers Lane to Bridge Street / River Lane in Saltney, but anywhere would help ease congestion.

Yeah, I’ve seen it. The area does flood but that hasn’t stopped them building on Clifton Drive. If it does get built I hope they build a new crossing over the Dee, it’s needed massively.

Yeah, great team when they had serious money from ICI sponsorship. Been a steady decline since then.

Just hope it’s a decent game tbh.

How is your modern Vespa running? I see a few running around town and they always look smart, can shift too.

Steady, original ton-up boys had a certain aesthetic, they weren’t fat fucking Jim Davidson types in bomber jackets and camouflage cargo pants. Sometimes I fancy owning a scooter, old guy round the corner from me has a lovely Lambretta, but there’s too many Billy Britains riding them for my tastes.

You’re from a suburb of St Helens, hardly a position of strength in all matters wool.

Lovely photos. Take your cap off and you could be Brother Cadfael, if he let himself go a bit.
