Rule of Law is most under threat. But, flip the graph upside down and you will see that this is because the Rule of law forms the foundation of the other categories. It shields them from more brazen, direct assaults. Great post by @jenvictor.bsky.social at the newly revived @misofact.bsky.social .

A student today said my style of speech sounded like Charlie Kirk. They clarified it was a compliment on my energy/performance, but they are still getting an "F" now.

Awesome from @brooklynwalker.bsky.social and @pauldjupe.bsky.social. Post Dobbs, those opposed to Christian Nationalism likely have stronger views on the protection/restriction of abortion rights.

The Trump administration is specifically targeting professional researchers who study inequalities caused by threatened groups and poor institutional design. People who study how misinformation skews our views of one another and reality. The administration is attacking truth and justice.

Took a break from the end of the republic to see Beach Bunny. V fun show.

Someone told me Trump isn't fascist because we don't have death camps yet. I responded that you can still be fascist without meeting the maximal definition of the term. Then I punctuated with, "you know someone is an Animorph even if they haven't completely turn into a giant squid yet."

Anyone else watching Daredevil: Born Again and also seeing Kingpin as an eerily close stand in for Trump II? Like, this was written and made waaaay before we got here. And it's basically prediction machine. Wild.

My dog is cooler than yours. Rory at the eclipse last year.

Super weird. When I have lots of grading to do, I also get this unshakable urge to rearrange the furniture in my whole apartment.

I think this is largely right. But also a great jumping off place to argue about thermostatic opinion, how much the public knows about what government does, and what parts touch their lives.

I didn't realize Trump getting rid of pennies was a slippery slop to getting rid of all our other money.

MPSA travelers! Who made it to the Palmer House and who is out here wandering in airport limbo? Sound off!

Holy cow! With hints for students about how to read articles efficiently and midterm template ideas. Great public resource.

We all just need to make it to midnight. Then we'll know for sure the Booker thing and this Crawford win wasn't some heinous April Fools' joke.

Booker ceding time to Bennet, who then asked if he would prefer a "5 minute or 5 hour question" was super cute and wholesome. Teachers who speak for over an hour at a time know...

A mystery student 3D printed me a doorstop for my office. Surprised by how moved I was. Thanks mystery student, you made my day!

The only good thing to come out of Trump's second term is that I get to refer to Pence as "Trump's first Vice President" and it always reads like a funny joke.

People who do political comm/psych experiments. Has anyone found a better way to make realistic looking news vignettes other than saving web pages, using inspect element, and tinkering with the HTML?

This paper deserves more attention. Uses Keyssar and other data to compile the most comprehensive historical state disenfranchisement law dataset I've seen. Uses it to show which policies reduced turnout most (it was poll taxes) gated: www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

1/🧵 The conversation around our paper on ideological persuasion has been remarkable. We really appreciate all the feedback and engagement. This thread clarifies some key points and questions and incorporates what we've learned from your engagement. ⬇️

Watch. Three minute of your time. But worth much more.

Dune Two has a run time of 2:46. But the 3 hour director's cut has a solid 15 minutes of people shaking the sand out of their shoes. So excited!

I did not go to the convention to get a photo, but it's just nice to know I'll be falling asleep in the same city as William Zabka tonight.
