But somewhat upsetting to watch with the thought that 2026 will leave us without the finest sport commentary team in UK television.

In my top 10 for its simplicity and Beckwatter. Last year I decided it would be a good idea to buy 6 bottles and then walk up the track to Goathland. Beer wasn't even for me.

I was last there in 2023 and I thought the Turk's Head still had the best cask across the Isles.

Was the Tom Waits gig at the Dominion where he sat under a solitary light bulb? If so I was there.

Brilliant at the Edinburgh Fringe, I've never managed a theatre hangover before. Completely bonkers

From what I hear from a local friend...they were all used to it being closed (before) and they've become well off for decent pubs with better beer choices in the area, including the Little Brewery's Tiny Tap.

Good news. Greatly enjoyed his beers at Brecon Brewery.

Didn't like to start on 'noise and people' as yes I'm #oldman too.

I thought it was just me. Apart from Kirkstall, beer quality better in good cask pubs by day 2, and food offerings that fail to impress. As events I prefer the likes of the #BurtonAleTrail .

Brilliant pub, wonderful coastline. Low Newton next? Can't resist...I was taken ill in the Olde Ship....funny tern.

Thanks Tom. Amazing that it all started with me, Martin Taylor and a couple of other Bass drinkers. I assume Sainthood will come from the new chap in the Vatican soon. All the best

The petrol station is so reminiscent of Hopper.

Greatly enjoyed it last year. Beers were excellent and very friendly folk. Perfect combo, the afternoon session and then a curry in Bradford.

Definitely a hint of the dominant cask ale demographic in the traditional bars on my recent trip to Bavaria.

Oh well maybe not the last....Weinstube Ruckel wins through as our favourite bar of the trip. Reminiscent of 'Early Doors'.

The playing cards remind me of a week on the Llangollen canal in the late 70s. It may have involved Merrie Monk.

The road leading from the whiteness of the washing to the belching fire and smoke of the steel mill always catches my eye.

Good to see progress at last. In the meantime I'd like to see landowners get financial penalties for use of public resources when 'controlled' burning gets out of control. e.g. the recent fiasco on Beeley Moor in the Peak District that needed firefighters from across Derbyshire and Yorkshire.

I had the same thought today as I made my pesto and garlic butter. Ordinary garlic misses the point.

Hoping for food and a few beers at Zum Sternla on 1st May. Any info as to whether it's open? Thanks.

A useful way of getting punters onside before a significant change perhaps? Why would Carlsberg want to brew somebody else's cask when they're cutting back their own.

Superb on the last tour and he can still stand on one leg. Very firm views on mobile phones in gigs, thank goodness.

That's good news. The Weissbier Hex is close to our hotel, perfect for our 11pm arrival.
