im all for the idea that the government and most politicians are useless to protecting us but like in the case of a supreme court justice doing exactly their job im not sure what else she can do to the contrary that isn't "murder her coworkers"

a close family member of mine was molested by a drag queen as a child. hearing them recount the story is one of the only times that person has been so vulnerable to me in their entire life. predators will exist anywhere where people have their guard down.
comment in response to post
not to be that guy but i dont know if it's a good idea to pretend that child molestors can't exist within certain demographics
comment in response to post
still real tho

they think this is a negative lol

it's amazing, it feels like the early internet without as many slurs. not even a fraction of the bots, easy to manage feeds that don't show me inflammatory stuff. ive become a person who mostly posts replies out of a love for conversation here

taunting right before it

if i were a bluesky developer i would not be able to sleep at night knowing that the simple and frequent act of blocking someone is the most fundamentally confusing and site-breaking thing that can happen
comment in response to post
im not very good at strive or fighting games in general and i feel like i can block most strings on my level on pure instinct because almost every character rushes you down and does similar stuff
comment in response to post
it's probably an "easier" game than the one youve played, honestly. most of the game at a lower level is just doing strike throw mixups, and the characters in strive are mostly all similar in their general game plan

that seems like a great tineframe to set for yourself tho, no?
comment in response to post
they use that low-framerate style that's popular nowadays that makes you nauseous but also don't do anything visually interesting with it at all except make it look like someone painted over every 4th frame of a live action movie with their dullest gouache paints

all this time i thought fair enough meant like damn youre right fr fr have i been looking like an asshole this whole time

can i have your credit card information
comment in response to post
second this, as a casual it was a really pleasant way to learn some cards and get some of the satisfaction of choice without going as far as drafting

but sis this is texas holdem

it's actually the opposite: not that difficult for these people and with gigantic benefit. this type of astroturfing is partially what got trump elected and what pushed a lot of post-qanon conspiracies to the mainstream.

some of the sponsors were like palantir and shit too lol

i mean its just a thread, no? probably like one of the least idiotic threads made on a website this week all things considered

like someone said less than 3000??? reports from news sites that are anti-trump are talking about hundreds still being in line to get in as the parade ended. i dont think it's not way lower than our dipshit president expected but i dont think it was less than 10k
comment in response to post
to be completely honest some of the lowest end of these estimates are absurd. the guy has a cultlike worship, has won two presidencies, and there's a 40% chance any given person in this country approves of him right now according to polling.

every part of this is so funny. the use of an anti-war song, the horribly unenthusiastic out of step marching, the lack of crowds, using the live version of the song to make it sound like the non-existent crowds are cheering
comment in response to post
yeah. it's such an insanely strong game otherwise. i think a lot of games at the time either just didnt know how to end or didnt expect people to finish them enough to care about the way pacing and level design plateau lol

morality, a thing that is famously not subjective at all

not sure snake plissken would say that

the truth is that losers with bad opinions just think you should be forced to see their opinions. cuban thinks he's either algorithmically or financially entitled to give opinions, make people see them, and not get shouted at
comment in response to post
i dont understand this idea that it's inherently bad to make your social media experience an isolated bubble. it's bad if like your entire worldview is framed through that lens but like, my youtube and netflix get to show me only stuff i want to see, why do i have to be miserable on bluesky?
comment in response to post
probably a little early to call it on blazblue and also it would partially be a narrative thing but theyve been recycling pixel art as long as they could and i feel it on the breeze
comment in response to post
the idea that darkstalkers and maybe blazblue are effectively dead because fighting games have shifted to 3d styles where animation is cheaper and easier than pixel makes me pretty sad
comment in response to post
all fighting games too

i mean its not great from a translation and phrasing angle but i think it's tonally solid
comment in response to post
i think it makes sense. i think a lot of the lines in this scene dont really push the gravity of what theyre doing. reading it as barret maybe-joking-maybe-not and tifa as both admonishing him and concerned with the possibility, and then taking in the weight of their actions -> this

i used to fuck around in class and ask really silly questions and once i had a teacher that would answer them without fail. one day i asked her why she would answer them. she told me "if you dont ask stupid questions, and i dont answer them, who will?"
comment in response to post
people will ridicule you for anything because people are assholes. but there's no shame in asking an honest question.
comment in response to post
police and feds retaliate, we've seen them hound social media for people and arrest them. if something were to happen you could be brought in and scapegoated or just lumped in with agitators.

without ever getting anything conclusive. in addition, i partially want to blame the united states' bad education system over any knowledge gap with diagnosis. crowded schools and a bad education plan mean these issues slip through the cracks easier.
comment in response to post
i think there's a lot of people consciously or unconsciously avoiding the diagnosis. in addition, i think with the large overlap between the two, many with autism are brushed off as having less "serious" issues like adhd or even just basically diagnosed piecemeal (ie sensory processing disorder)

i think theres an incredible amount of talent in pop music these days, and dismissing the use of a greater range of tools is like dismissing artists who use photoshop as bad artists. even musicians making vapid and heavily produced music like ariana grande; her range and vocal control is incredible!
comment in response to post
and electronic music is trans history! a genre whose modern history mostly starts with noted trans woman wendy carlos in the 70s and in recent times has been pushed forward by great trans musicians like SOPHIE
