I used to call it "new Porsche money," I'd start thinking it wasn't fine to do an ad if the person was already rich and it'd pay for for some rich person thing they could already afford. "New private jet money?"

It feels very 90's to talk about people selling their artistic credibility out or whatever but yeah, I think it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Tacky.

"Discussing the musical direction of The Ride, McCann stated, "I feel like everybody started thinking too outside the box trying to be arty and different. We wanted to stay inside the box."[72]" Truly what you want to hear any artist say about their work.

Joyce, ignoring the "horny on main" etiquette.

I'm hopefull that Zubi will unclog us on 2 levels. 1. His natural inclination to pass forward and two footedness in doing so. 2. Releasing MO to play higher and recieve the ball later in the build up phase.

Klopp clearly knows players and he adored him.

I suspect, given that he also wants Saka working back that it would take a hell of a player for Arteta to let him flounce around at the top of the pitch.

This is an issue I have with people who don't watch Arsenal as intenselysaying things like "why didn't they just buy Rapheal Leao?" We'd all love more production from GM but I don't think a lot of people realise what Arteta wants off the ball from him, and what he delivers on that scote.

May be making myself a hostage to fortune here and relying on players being available but I'm not as convinced that a cb is vital. Timber, White and even the theoretical Tomiyasu can all provide Saliba cover. We've 3 international LCB's. I'd sooner get a second DM as zubi cover and not renew "him"

On the issue of affording Rodrygo and cutting our cloth accordingly elsewhere, the keeper deal we're making frees up 20 mill that they seemed to have allocated. They may be reconsidering other moves based on that.

Insanely voluminous hair in your 40's must be a prerequisite for the Brentford job.

"Taste" is a bit filthy and has a much more vulgar title in this household.

I was shocked to discover that the concacaf gold cup will be going on at the same time as this. I'd imagine the national element (even with the usmnt being bad right now) might grab more casual eyeballs vs visiting clubs plus Inter miami.

That's really cool Ro. Well done to your young lad. Great performance of one of my favourites too.

I was in LA once and my big celeb spot was Stipe having lunch in the same restaurant as me. He was eating a ginormous salad and and telling his companion about his concern for how "Courtney" was getting on. I wasn't earwigging, he was just close by and hearable.

The kid didn't half smash with with his right against Leicester too, hit the bar IIRC

I can see that. I remember thinking in the summer of Aouar I was thinking, "well if we can't get him just give Saka all those minutes," we ended up doing that but just in a different spot.

WRT Saka more inside allowing for Nwaneri to get minutes on the right. Do you mean as one of the 8s or as a central forward?

I get my telly via my broadband provider these days via an apple TV box, so there probably is an app on the store. Might set it up in my folks' house for my dad and will probably see it when I'm visiting but I'm trying to not engage with it.

It's the twin pairing of John Collins, who played for Fulham from 2000-2003 and Collins Jonn who played for Fulham from 2004 - 2008

I saw them 2 summers ago and they were fab.

Maybe it's just me being in middle age but I think having to get an app is going to hurt viewing regardless of how good or bad. I don't intend to watch it but if it was on linear tv and I was channel surfing I'd probably land on a game and watch

I couldn't make it on Tuesday but heard great reports from how Dublin went. Enjoy yourselves.

People in the Jack Charlton era talked about the plastic paddies in the squad but there were a few English born + raised players in the 90's for whom Irishness was their primary identity. David Connolly was one, Kevin Kilbane turned down an English underage callup as he wanted to play for Ireland.

Have you found out what Berta's preferred method cooking for guests is? Are we looking at a rebrand?

Probably a similar principal to why that pitcher who threw funny in Moneyball was so effective, the batters brain had an information deficit of how the ball would fly. They're already calculating when to swing before the pitch is made based on the pitcher's action and technique.

There's an excellent book called "The Sports Gene", I haven't read it in a decade, but in one of the early chapters it talked about how the best women's softball player could strike out MLB players at a high rate because the baseball players aren't used to the way the ball comes out the her hand.

I know people in Straffan who could point them to where his house is if they need directions.

Jeffrey Donaldson's gaff is presumably in ashes by now and has been for some time.

I've been meaning to watch that. On netflix now I think. My answer would be Bodyguard, I picked my wife up from her mother's last night as she was visiting and when herself answered the door she told me "you've picked a bad moment, we're watching a programme and there's a sex scene going on now."
