Day 101: A much more elegant way of doing the same thing. ๐

Day 99 & 100: Yesterday I did a few random things like working on a few patches, studying sounds and presets, etc. It definitely did things yet I didn't feel as productive. Similarly for today, but I did figure out how to recreate Vital's formant warping in the Grid. -w-

Day 97 & 98: I was quite busy both days. I first combined the XY phase-distortion setup with the 4D wavetable patch to make the ultimate 2*XY wavetable patch. On the day after I enhanced my random band pitcher rack to create random wild bass jams.

Day 94 & 95: Yesterday I played around with the Phasor module and manipulating the phase signal. I also tried doing some math with it. Today I made an XY patch of multiple phase modules and made a cool sample jam with it. Moreover, I've been working on my article on both days.>w<

Day 92 & 93: Yesterday I started writing an article about the math of Phase distortion and made presets with the methods. Today I figured out a better way to formulate the math so I have to rewrite the whole thing ๐ญ. I also played with Phasor and the phase modules in Bitwig. >w<

Day 91: I mathed real hard today.

Day 89 & 90: Yesterday I tried reverse-engineering a sound from Euphoria by Ata and got close but I thought the AM needed to be a bit more intense. Today I had a eureka moment: I unlocked the power of phase distortion!

Day 87 & 88: I didn't end up doing much but tried reverse engineering a pad I love but I hit a roadblock, so now this time feels kinda wasted.

Day 86: I have a wavetable obsession problem.

(Glad I saved the note I recorded the original sample with. -w-)

Day 85: Today I made wavetables again, some of which I am really happy with! They turned out so cool! I tried making a psy bass with one of them and by extension ended up practising making a psytrance beat. ๐

Day 84: I don't remember all the random stuff I did. At least I processed some TTS voice shots, made more wavetables, and randomly made a pluck arp which took waaay too long, but I like it. If someone knows a better way to make clock & pitch arp syncs in the Grid please LMK. xDDD

Day 82 & 83: Yesterday I worked on a track but felt discouraged failing to make the bass I wanted. Today I made some utility patches & wavetables, studied what the "Blur" device actually does, and recreated a preset from this tutorial in the Grid. >w< youtu.be/b-4TkTnnrAM

Day 81: I continued working on a project and streamlining my 4D wavetable experience. I am really happy with it! I moreover made some bass jams with it again๐.

Day 79 & 80: I made some samples with the 4D wavetsble preset (I'll simply call it 4D instead of "2D positional space" lmao). On the day after I wrote a piano part and tried to make an intro part out of it. :3

Day 78: 2D position/frame space wavetables.

Day 77: I made a few wavetables, worked on my wavetable tools programme, and worked on an article about wavetable creation and specifications. :D

Day 76: I felt physically rather terrible today so I only experimented with PM-ing basic shapes by vocal samples. While that was cool, I also figured I could try modulating the sample playback speed, which sounds similar to PM. This chain became quite interesting!

Day 74 & 75: Yesterday I jammed out on piano with a downsampled patch hehe. Today I was going through advice on a part I'm working on, I recreated a sound in the Grid, and I replicated Vital's 'Bend' morph in Grid, which tbh can mostly simply be done using a transfer curve.๐

Day 73: I remade the 'Downsample' distortion mode from Serum in Bitwig's FX-Grid. I want to try to remake some of Serum's FX presets so that I can use those when using the Grid for sounddesign :D. I'll do more stuff today but I was quite excited to post this already haha.

Day 71 & 72: Wow week 10 weeks have past, that's wild! Time really flies xD. Anyway, I forgot to post about both days, but not much has happened. On Monday I made some SFX'es after a failed attempt at making a specific vocoder, and yesterday I followed bass tutorials! ><

Day 70: I tried reverse engineering the lock-on sound from Ace Combat 3, and used my version in a project I also worked on. It's really not perfect, but it's close enough to my liking. ๐

Day 68 & 69: Both days I worked on a project. I figured I could just combine both days since I was doing the same thing -w-. That said I might do some more reverse engineering today. :D

Day 67: I made a wavetable out of a section from the recording above and it unexpectedly turned out quite alright. It's a really nice one to PM with too! -w- (I also worked on projects today hihi~~).

Day 66: Yesterday, among other things, I felt inspired by Harmor's Prism to pitch shift different bands of the overtones of a signal. I randomised the number of bands and the pitch shift amount and just pressed record. Sometimes some unreal sounds come out of a simple SAW! O.O

Day 64 & 65: Omygosh forgot to post about both days. Tbh I did the same; work on a new track ๐. I don't think I should show much more of my progress at the moment though. ๐ท

Day 61: I really didn't have ANY time yesterday, so I squeezed in 10 minutes of more lead-tinkering. That said I really need to stop being a perfectionist and ACTUALLY start making demos. ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ

Day 60: Yesterday I tried playing around with kindof effect switching on a lead. I was inspired by LSDJ's command workflow & Flippendo's music and tried to think in a similar way to try to make a lead more interesting.

Day 59: Today I didn't do much. I tried working on a lead which I feel somewhat dissatisfied about. It of course needs more context from more sounds but still the result so far felt a bit disappointing for the time I spent detailing it.

Day 58: Yesterday I was jamming on the piano to help compose the piece, and I worked a bit on the drum foundation. :D

As a musician I often find it difficult to have music on in the background in the first place haha. I'd just stop paying attention to my task and instead listen and pay attention to the music xDDD.

None of the above haha. I used to use Vital a lot but honestly I became a Bitwig Grid gal. It's so flexible I use it for everything. xD

Day 57: Yesterday I started working on a new track (1 of the 4 projects haha). I'm quite excited and have cool ideas I think! ๐

Day 55: I got home really late so I didn't do a lot. I went over another simple sound which I liked and turns out it was made in a really similar way to another sound I knew, so I just made a basic setup for both. ๐๐

Day 54: I read some articles and studied some stems, from which I learnt a lot! I want to apply the knowledge on a new track! I also played some more piano today and played around with convolution to kindof colourise sounds.

Day 53: Yesterday I played some piano and started a new project. Rn I'm feeling some Hitech in 7. -w-

Day 52: Once again forgot to post. Yesterday I spent some time sounddesigning again. I recently looked into PM a lot so I figured it would be nice to try AM again. That said, I should practice actually making more tracks at this point. I feel like I'm not progressing much. ;_;

Day 51: Today I played around with Freakytable, and with some new samples -w-. I didn't spend much time on music today since I was working on a PhD application, but at least I got something done ><.

Day 50: Week 8!! Yesterday I played around with FM and PM synthesis. Apparently, FM-4 in Bitwig does actual FM rather than PM, which sounds slightly different xD. I also made some midi mappings for EZdrummer3 for Musescore and Bitwig's piano roll to simplify drum writing.

Day 49: There was a patch I was trying to recreate but I failed. I wonder how to bend wavetable waveforms like Serum's Asym in The Grid. I made some other fun sound with the bite oscillator module though, and finished my first draft for some lyrics.

Day 48: Yesterday I copied some presets using The Grid and I made OTT presets -w-. Honestly, The Grid became my main "synth"; can literally do anything with it.
