He/him. I intend to do stuff, but apparently I am a master procrastinator. Also possibly a talking wombat.

I don’t know if she’s seen the movie that much since that week. That was a VHS we rented just the one time IIRC.
Or any other John Waters movie.

She watched it, rewound the tape and watched it again.

Fun fact: My sister once watched Cry-Baby so many times over the course of a week that she memorised the dialogue.

And why not the necklace, the hourglass and the magic Mrs Andrews made in the book while we’re at it?

Friends got wild when Rachel left and the show just kept going…

The musical is real (and the songs all slap), but I have zero idea where this came from.

ABC Australia’s 7PM bulletin last night: Middle East, the protests and a local story about a town’s festival.
Clearly it can be done.

I believe I’ve only seen four versions of the story: Faerie Tale Theatre, Popeye, Bevanfield and Disney. Do I want to see this version?

Didn’t Lois actually kick people in L&C?
I completely understand not wanting to rewatch that show, but I recall it happening several times.

Can we please stop insulting Elmo like this? The worst he’s done is grate on older people. He’s not the Muskrat.

You’d think “make a more interesting movie” would have been a better idea. Nothing I saw about that movie made it look good.

Which Gundam Wing character would you be most likely to hang out with?

You are aware that we let him publish a YA fiction book series between then and now?
This is like crying about Victor Salva making another movie.
(Note: I saw Jeepers Creepers without knowing VS’s history. Suffice it to say it’s the only movie of his I’ve seen. And I didn’t care for it anyway.)

As much as I would love to say this is from the land of ten thousand nopes, the following image is almost ten years old:

The Magician’s Nephew sounds like it’s an awkward-as-hell book to adapt. Everything just sort of…happens. Like, they go to Charn, go back to London, then take everyone to Narnia and do stuff there.

It’s better than Battlefield Earth taking it’s sweet time to name the fucking PROTAGONIST. He never introduces himself onscreen, his girlfriend doesn’t call him by name. It’s just called out randomly FORTY MINUTES IN.

Dad also likes those things, and he occasionally checks out some comics I have (also he can tolerate Deadpool far better than Mum can), but that’s largely it.

I am the same age as the G1 cartoon, but my parents are very not-geeky. Mum tells us she once raced home to see Lady Penelope’s Rolls-Royce in colour and she loves SF/Fantasy books (Doc Smith rather than PKD) and the Big Three of TV/Movie Sci-Fi, but that’s it, really.

People who talk about Elevated Horror really need to look at Shudder. It’s got The Babadook, Slaxx, Dr Terror and Alice Maio Mackay’s oeuvre. That’s four different takes on the shit that scares us.

So fun fact: I have seen the 93 Mario movie probably about 11-20 times. I marvel at about how weird it is, being an unholy mix of Max Headroom, Blade Runner and a cute little kids movie with Mario characters.
I saw the 2023 movie just once and was bored by it.
But to each their own.
