This is so horrifying & absurd

It’s 4AM and I’m randomly awake, so I’m going try this thing.

I was unable to get in as a speaker for #iowahf583, so I have joined this lovely social media platform to post it here and elsewhere.

I am voting in the Hugo awards this year! I’ve been working on reading novels from 2024… but what short stories, novelettes and novellas should I prioritize?

A close-up of "The Ingenue" card from my romance writing inspiration card deck project (The Romance Writer's Oracle).

One of my favourite oil painters, Henrietta Rae (1859-1928) 🖤 #oilpainting

all right, here's a more holistic art post and not just D&D burbling, featuring my penchant for dangerous women and Too Many Moons Website: priscillakim.com

Hugo nominations are open and I have only two requests: 1. Commit to picking 2 non-Tordotcom novellas for your ballot 2. For the love of all that is holy in this world, do not nominate adult/crossovers or middle grade books for the Lodestar - officially categorized YA only!

Have I mentioned here that I create tokens for the #Roll20 marketplace? Anyway, I'm trying to get back into uploading new items and finishing up the WIPs that have been on my hard drive for months. The below are new packs - Village Music, Elven Nobles, Market Folks, & Victorian Vampires

I wrote a thing about Angel! it is full of spoilers! I made myself very mad! I hope y'all will read this one -- I worked very hard on it and I'm super proud of how it came out.

I'm very happy to share the cover illustration I did for 'To Clutch A Razor' by @veronicaroth.bsky.social , #2 of the Curse Bearer series (and a sequel to When Among Crows), for @torbooks.bsky.social ⚔️

I’m sick with Covid and have been playing a bit of Tavern Master because it requires very little from me. Not a ton of crimes… but I am probably not in fire code.

Art vs Artist for 2024. This year has been a lot, but I'm proud of the work I've done. 2024 brought more color commissions, more maps for special editions, my first cutaway map, and my first piece published in a major trad edition. #ArtShare #Cartography

💖 I love this so much 💖 I hadn't thought about this line in years!

Lots and lots of readers tell me that my books feel safe and cozy. Those books include quite a lot of dismemberment, body horror, the occasional torture scene…people are complicated. Let readers love what they love.

Tapping the sign and reminding folks that the strict binary between "safe cozy books" and "risky transgressive books" is fake. A few writers and readers on extreme ends of that spectrum made it up. In reality there are many varied works with many tones/content types and there will continue to be.

Now I am wondering if the future of this book’s cover will end in a few weeks. In 2022, Target didn’t put the cover art on their website listing for weeks. Once the art was posted, you couldn’t search the book by title. You had to enter the ISBN for it to show.

Another piece for the upcoming romance genre card deck. The idea is a writing tool deck with forty cards, all of different romance book tropes and character types. @thez.bsky.social was a huge source of feedback and support for the project. This was her favorite card, although I've since made more

QRP with your 🌈 rainbow 🌈 art!

A close up from the map I did for Jasmine Walt's Kickstarter campaign.

I haven't been around a lot because... well, see my previous posts. I'm dropping in to share that Jasmine Walt's Kickstarter for the special edition versions for Of Dragons and Fae is now live. And I did the map! I love how this map turned out and am so happy I can now share it.

My best friend @thez.bsky.social passed away late Tuesday/early Wednesday. She was 28 and at the start of her writing career. This is her author website. zoekaplanwrites.com

@tobiasbuckell.bsky.social I’ve sent you an email regarding your MFA student @thez.bsky.social. I would really like to get in touch — it’s important.

Check out this map I did for Fallen Knight! I love incorporating elements like animals and flowers into compass designs.
