I may not agree with Kate Wagner on every housing issue, but damn I'm here for this McMansion Hell takedown of the Whitehouse. 🤝

Senator Van Hollen: My goal is to keep a spotlight on this until the 9-0 Supreme Court order is implemented. I asked the embassy whether they've been ordered by the Trump administration to do anything to facilitate his return. The answer was no

Several House Republicans were granted access but they’re blocking a Senate Democrat.

As I detail in this post, part of Bukele's "truce" with MS-13 is to give them greater control over the prisons in which they are incarcerated. Which means that Abrego-Garcia was sent back to a country where he faced gang retaliation, into a confinement where MS-13 will have power over him

And you call this carbon "accounting"? Can I put industry average revenue in my financial statements too?

Senator Chris Van Hollen says he asked the U.S. embassy in El Salvador if they had received orders from Trump to try to facilitate the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia as the Supreme Court instructed, and was told no. @vanhollen.senate.gov

The market is rational and the expected impacts of tariffs are already priced in...

Van Hollen says that he asked the VP of El Salvador why his government continues to hold Abrego Garcia even though he’s not charged with any crime and there’s no evidence that he’s MS-13. “His answer was that the Trump administration is paying the government of El Salvador to keep him at CECOT”

The forever tweet.

In case you wondered if every vote counts.🤷🏻‍♂️

Huge new illegal action from OMB in pursuit of carrying out Project 2025. Sounds boring but super important. OMB has illegally stopped sharing info whose entire purpose is to help ensure they follow budget laws. They're breaking a reporting law to facilitate breaking spending laws. Technical 🧵

“.. ‘This is their M.O.,’ Mr. Mahdawi’s lawyer, Luna Droubi, said. ‘They just continue to hide the individual to the point where their attorneys can’t quite understand or identify where to file.’” @nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/n...

Good discussion between Reshma Saujani and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, in which she talks about what led to the viral awkwardness of her recent Oval Office meeting.

Last night, US Judge Sweeney in Colo granted district-wide (state-wide) class habeas TRO to stop Trump from summarily removing aliens under his Alien Enemies Act proclamation. @ACLU attys had warned that, despite SCOTUS ruling, Admin won't commit to providing even 24 hrs notice. 1/2

Since the Trump admin continues to claim Mr. Abrego Garcia is a gang member, I thought I'd take the time to put together a timeline, based on all the documents filed in court, which lays out all the "evidence" the government has ever offered. As you'll find out, there's very little "there" there!

This just in from The AP, reflecting the fact that it prevailed over the Trump WH in court last week: "Our journalists were blocked from the Oval Office today. We expect the White House to restore AP's participation in the pool as of today, as provided in the injunction order."

My name is __, zip code __. I'm calling as your constituent to express alarm at the Abrego Garcia case. Trump is openly defying the Supreme Court by not bringing Garcia back. If Trump can do this, then he is unquestionably a dictator and American self-governance is over. What can we do to stop this?

One of hundreds of people abducted by ICE and sold to slavery in El Salvador was a 19 year old with no criminal record in the US or Venezuela and no tattoos of any kind. An ICE kidnapper who grabbed him outside his house said, "He's not the one." The other said, "Take him anyway." So they did.

Before press came in — but while live feed was running on Bukele’s feed — Trump said to him: “home-growns are next. … You’re gonna need to build about 5 more places.” x.com/nayibbukele/...

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

Trump exempting computers & phones from the tariffs today means that Chinese-made laptops now have lower tariffs than European Cars, Mexican Steel, & Canadian Lumber. Also means Vietnamese-made laptops have a lower tariff than Ethiopian coffee, Indian tea, & Guatemalan bananas

Can someone point me to coverage of why Whitmer was meeting with the president? I've seen practically hundreds of takes that she's cooked but not one explaining why. FWIW, I don't think "being at the Whitehouse" is disqualifying.

"In Washington" 😂😂😂🤣

10/10 no notes

An anti-corruption campaign is actually probably the easiest way to have disgruntled MAGA marks come back to sanity without losing face.

Don't worry, they'll actually have [checks earpiece] 89 days.

Painful to watch the Judge blink here.

I f'n love my home team.

New from me: the Senate plan to extend Trump's tax cuts and enact an additional $1.5 trillion in tax cuts would lower wages *so much* Americans on average would have less money even w/ the lower taxes. In other words, it reduces after-tax income. Link here: www.americanprogress.org/article/amer...

Ok surely here is one agency David Sacks and the broligarch boys will understand.
