This is for everyone blooming in the cracks.
For the exhausted, the too-tired-to-be-inspirational.
And especially for the mothers who carry invisible weightβ
the ones whose matrescence was carved in grief.
The ones who had to become through the darkness. You are seen.

I wonder if people felt the bad recession vibes and then sought out happy music for a taste of joy? At the risk of wading far outside my comfort zone, music does help regulate the nervous system, so maybe we instinctually attune to happy music in hard times?

Add in (thankfully now diagnosed) ADHD and it's really no wonder I struggled over the last 5 years! Stress can be so subtle and then suddenly you don't even recognize yourself. It's bonkers.

He hands me a list
I make my choice
Behind a barrier so no one sees
My fear
My doubt
My anger
My rage
I smile and hand it back, my choice a secret
He smiles and tears a strip off
Hands it back to me
I put it in the bin and thank him
I hope
I wait
I worry
(I brace.)
I hope we didn't fuck it up

A diagnosis is answers, access to accommodation, access to support, and access to strategies to help with the parts of life that I struggle with. I don't want to be "cured", my ADHD makes me brilliant in some ways, but it also make other things a real struggle sometimes.

I'm enjoying it but it's like sci-fi and speculative fiction - a what if the space race never ended? I'm only about 8 episodes in but it's fun!

Apple tv low key has the best original programming. Severance, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Bad Sisters, Schmigadoon!, The Morning Show, The Big Door Prize. I'm currently watching For All Mankind and enjoying it too, but may not be for everyone π

Fully agree! Living the working mom life today too - 2 year old is on day 6 at home due to illness π« affordable child care is one piece of the puzzle but the other is policy that supports working parents!
