We have moments in our lives that we say are wake-up calls& vow to change our destructive habits. Sometimes it takes a few of those moments to slap some sense into your head. USA is a place with great people but run by monsters.
There have been great leaders but you never allowed them to be elected.

I didn’t believe that the “good guys” attacked innocent people and children until we saw the Vietnam War. I think strategists have calculated their values dead vs alive. It’s either too complicated to avoid them with modern weapons or the terror helps achieve goals. Look at California.

How does that happen for the road allowance people? It would be great to have a place that’s “home” so that a museum for Métis people could share that for the people who were scattered. I found dignity in my records & saw my brother stand taller when I showed him the great things out family had done

I’m pretty concerned about the Hudsons Bay records & what will happen to them in the bankruptcy process. I found many contracts (indentured servants) in their archives. I believe Manitoba owns many of them but not all.

Records are definitely tricky even for those of us in Métis communities in Manitoba. I began with my great grandfather who signed a halfbreed petition to the government and searched for records from there. I managed to fill in most of my family tree going back to mid 1600’s Canada It’s >500 pages
