These restrooms were formerly designated as gender neutral. Further, RA's are being told to report any student they suspect of being trans, non-binary, intersex, or gender non-conforming so that the University can reassign and force the student to move to a different dorm in a different building.

The reason I highlighted that quote from @imarajones.bsky.social's article is because what's happening now is of a kind with the attempted erasure of trans people in the post-Stonewall days. Just like Sylvia, we'll have to teach that lesson as long as necessary. Actual history.

Many of the folks at Stonewall and among the organizers in its aftermath were trans women of color, Imara Jones of TransLash writes about trans women of color in LGBTQ liberation now and then in this piece for The Nation, printed for Stonewall's 50th anniversary. bsky.app/profile/imar...

The UK Guardian looked like it was going to try something similar (pretend to be all trans friendly without a word of mea culpa) but they just let their transphobe in chief out of the cage again… bsky.app/profile/hlee...

Absolutely correct. At the very least they could have mentioned their own role in bringing anti-trans views into the mainstream and bringing Trump to power.
