I don’t think this is really that unpopular, it’s just that the collectors that collect *everything* get more visibility.

I feel you I’m considering moving to here full time again from Twitter

That’s true, I think that’s the same for me as well

Yeah :( main reason I haven’t been around much here is my RoP fixation is dimmed but I’m also in a low social energy spurt right now. I’ve been more active on tumblr though! Mostly X-men and Daredevil at the moment.

I’ll still be watching the new seasons and be semi present in the fandom always, but I don’t know how large or enthusiastic that presence will be in the future. They’ve lost me as a stan and dedicated fan. I may make my accounts multifandom again especially here on bluesky.

All this to say, I am incredibly disappointed, they massively pissed me off, and I feel very alienated by the fandom that used to be made of mostly friends, so this is why I’ve not been participating in much or rewatched.

The Adar base was my core group and kept me in the fandom but with him gone now they’ve separated us and I expect for most of us to fade out as the series goes on, even by S3.

The other factor is that the majority of the fandom now has shifted to being the shipperbase. Waves of new haladriels, mirendils, adariels, & more came in during S2 and most of the fandom from S1 left, leaving us with shipping wars and discourse wars galore.

Are they going to handle things like the 9, the temple of Morgoth, and Pharazon’s decent well or at all? How many more characters with potential are they going to create just to kill?

S1 was such a strong base with a lot of potential, I don’t know how or why they completely squandered it. I have serious concerns for S3, like are they going to make Sauron’s character all about Galadriel now? Is NĆ»menor ultimately going to feel rushed like Eregion did?

and how poorly they handled her character, how rushed S2 felt and how little time they had to develop anything, creating characters just to have on screen deaths, and just bad decisions like the Elrond and Galadriel kiss or making the stranger Gandalf just because.

WTF?????

A! They could totally have everything from stone canals to dug trenches for more natural cities. There’s a lot of ancient examples of sewage or water systems across the globe.
