Suspect my sarcasm was misunderstood. However Congress absolutely certifies the presidential election. If you are coming with that level of condescension it is extra embarrassing when you are wrong. apnews.com/article/jan-...

I am blaming all of DC and the inefficiency they operate it. It is in your imagination that the enough Republicans (9-10) wouldn't have voted for it to get to 60. It passed unanimously on the first vote, but leadership wouldn't bring it to the floor for a vote earlier because of 1 objection.
comment in response to post
Breaking their oath to the constitution in certifying a President, sure sounds like insurrection. I mean the crowds calling for congress to not vote to certify the last one is the basis for why many of them were charged, right?
comment in response to post
It passed the House by 98%, once leadership brought it to the floor of the Senate it passed unanimously. 60 votes in the Senate to overrule his hold never was the problem if they had put if forward for a vote. Why didn't they try for the 60 votes? because they were using it as leverage elsewhere.
comment in response to post
Curious, does that make those who voted to certify his election also Insurrectionists or maybe guilty of conspiracy to aid an insurrection?

These are both cases where the condemnation and calls for accountability should be universal and non-partisan. There is no excuse for not being on the side of condemnation or accountability for all those who failed these kids. Even those involved disagree on other issues.

The Church abuse scandals involved pure evil in their coverup. Any child rape is evil, but the church failures were disappointing in the expectations they should have. I have spoken and written about that extensively, but not since being on here in the past few weeks. It is always about the kids.
comment in response to post
Cool. I don't much care about his motivations in this specific tragedy to be honest. We need more passionate voices calling for accountability for not only the rape gangs but also the officers who stood aside and the whole string of bureaucrats and politicians whose job was to protect those girls.

Not sure if he will. I think if he doesn't release them it will be very telling just as the fact Biden has refused to is very telling. This isn't a partisan issue. Trump, Epstein & the Clintons all ran in the same NY social circles. Still surprised nothing leaked when Trump cut Epstein out of his.
comment in response to post
As for the response to the rape gangs. You can try to lessen it by calling it "grooming" but minors can't consent so whenever they are involved lets just use the proper word of Rape. The failures were so ugly and evil that improvement isn't to be celebrated without accountability.
comment in response to post
Excellent question. Not sure I have seen any reports of Elon knowing him. I hope Trump reverses Biden's stance on keeping the Epstein files secret and releases them in full. I don't trust selective leaks, let the full files come out and transparency reign.
comment in response to post
Is it really a debate? That would imply large groups of people support what happened. We simply all should condemn the actions that allowed it and passionately focus on accountability and ensuring it doesn't continue in the future.

So the exact same thing was in a standalone bill and the omnibus. This isn't the first time he has taken this stand it has happened many times before. Within hours of it being pulled out of the omnibus bill Paul lifted his objection on the standalone and it passed unanimously.
comment in response to post
Dem leadership could have agreed to only allow the standalone at any point in the past half year, but they don't want the end of double dipping.
comment in response to post
He blocked because there were 2 versions of the same bill. Once the omnibus version was removed, he took his block off the standalone. Double dipping allows $ advocated for "kids' cancer" in the omnibus to be used on other items in the omnibus instead. It is a deceptive spending technique.

It was controversial at the time, but did allow some Jews to buy their way out of Nazi Germany before things escalated in a major way.

So he would be a supporter of Israel and not the side that has vowed to wipe Israeli Jews off the map? That is one take.
comment in response to post
Would Hitler support this move?
comment in response to post
OK. Do you disagree with his current stated stance supporting the current Polio Vaccine. If you do, that is crazy to me. How about his years of climate and environmental advocacy, are you against that? I can agree with someone on stances (breaking news you can too) without "defending" them.
comment in response to post
Sorry... All the same thread, can't see his posts anymore so my replies on the thread skipped his. Learning or not that is how this works. I explained my reasoning, it isn't rocket science. Sorry if my note targeting him hurt you feelings by being placed inconveniently. You will live I promise.
comment in response to post
Not really. Admittedly, I do agree with his current stated stance of being supportive of the current Polio Vaccine also happen to agree with much of the climate activism he has done. But hey I also disagreed with Hillary being against Gay marriage for years until she changed to supporting it.
comment in response to post
Nope, wasn't you. Was the other person in the thread. Apologies if it seemed like you. Hard to place that comment precisely now that I can't see his posts anymore. :)

So very sad that you blocked me instead of giving the quoted examples where you falsely claimed I lied. I get hiding. The path to an echochamber and more election lost you should have won. If you change you mind and chose a discussion I won't block you back.
comment in response to post
But yes I do accept people can change positions. An example, I have supported gay marriage all my adult life. I have never understood the arguments against it. For this example Hillary Clinton opposed it for decades. Her position was 1 man 1 woman, until it wasn't. I support her change.
comment in response to post
Sucks when someone says a lie about you then runs off behind blocking you instead of discussing it.
comment in response to post
There is that odd claim again. If you are going to keep saying I lied, have the basic decency to share at least one quote, but preferably multiple you claim, I said that was a lie. Shouldn't be hard. You have said I have multiple times. This is how the left lost the election, in my opinion.
comment in response to post
To be fair, you are misunderstanding in the way many partisans do thinking in a binary way. I am not really "bipartisan" as much as I am anti-partisan. not sure which facts you raised you want to discuss. I am still kind of curious for you to share the statement I made you kept saying we're lies.
comment in response to post
Dude, saying someone has no arms isn't an opinion it is a statement of fact. As for if I identify as a furry, i believe the lefts stance is that I am free to if I want. If your opinion is to force an identity on me, I agree with the left that is troubling. See, not a conservative position.
comment in response to post
I dont ignore the past. So you are saying you now don't want to discuss it? I do agree with much of his environmental work, do you? Are you at least going to apologize for falsely saying I lied about it?
comment in response to post
I have now offered multiple times to discuss his past now. Please feel free to start. I acknowledge I started with no interest in debating past stances. But your false accusations of my lying has me at least willing to give my actual stances on the past. I am headed out for some family fun now
comment in response to post
Wait, can you clearly state the lies you keep accusing me of? Is it that my opinion that your statement that kids are going to start dying of polio is Fearmongering? Dude that is an opinion that we disagree on it, not a fact. Maybe we should back up to the difference between facts and opinions?
comment in response to post
OK, I get that because I state his current stance you assume I have a long line of partisan views on his past stances. You have falsely accused me of lying about his past stances. I admit discussing history didn't really interest me, but I have invested this time so if it will make you happy...
comment in response to post
And to be fair, your false accusation that I have lied about his past stances in not taking you out of context. You have simply been mistaken by assuming my beliefs following the two normal partisan dogmas.
comment in response to post
Feel free to add context, and to be fair my somewhat smartass tone is a vice you can find in partisans on either side or moderates. I use it often in discussions with partisans on both sides. It is not evidence of any specific dogma.
comment in response to post
That is fair, not going to go back up and check this time, I believe you said changed? My synonym shows a bit more of my moderate language but cede you likely didn't use it.
comment in response to post
Sure, your statements that he has evolved on the Polio vaccine is true. Your claim that I have denied this is not. Is that halfway? Do you want to meet me halfway and say the early applications of the Polio Vaccine had some tragic missteps we should learn from moving forward?
comment in response to post
OK, this is funny. Can we agree across the Aisles on this one?
comment in response to post
Sigh... Carter was a great man. Trump has made appropriate and respectful comments honoring him. Lets take a breather and just honor Jimmy Carter for a few days.
comment in response to post
Hey, I get where all your emotion is coming from. You have been conditioned that only two groups of people exist and in your mind you are debating the polar opposite partisan from yourself and are assuming their positions on multiple fronts. That just isn't me.
comment in response to post
Absolutely, your statement that I lied about his past stances was delusional. I have not and still await you to say where I have, I believe that my "lying about his past stances" is an irrational position in your imagination.
comment in response to post
By saying I lied about his past stance on the polio Vaccine? No that was clearly a lie. If by saying Kids are now going to get Polio? That is an opinion that I don't share, I believe it is fear mongering, and is deceptive without acknowledging he has stated support of the current polio vax.
comment in response to post
I will absolutely apologize when you point out a single lie I made in this chain as you have claimed without example multiple times. In the meantime, RFK jr's current stated stance on the Polio Vaccine is supportive. I also support the current Polio vaccine. Both of these are facts that upset you
comment in response to post
Sigh... you clearly said I lied about his past "stance" at a point I had only commented on his current stance. You also said I had said horrific lies about vaccines and haven't been able to state what lies I said about vaccines because I didn't.
