I've seen so many influencers and journalist pick this up in anticipation with Time Stranger. It's definitely the best Digimon RPG so far, but I wonder if people will also run up against it's pacing and limited/repetitive nature as well. We kinda forgave it bc it did everything else better.

I've always liked DRPGs but could never get into just player created characters. I'd love a good one with set story characters. Or something like BG3 where only the player character is not premade.

Thankfully the gameplay segments are short and the actual story for The Majima Saga more than make up for this.

I loved The Majima Saga as an epilogue to Zero, but I was a little disappointed in the actual gameplay and combat. There's not much to do except the story while the combat is limited and unsatisfying compared to Kiryu's in the main game or even Majima's from Zero.

This time I did every single substory. The mini game substories were the ones that gave me the most trouble. God that baseball one had me infuriated. I generally love the Cabaret Club management sim, but not being able to button through the Platinum Girl Dinners was a drag.

I really liked the combat and more RPG-like skill progression system. Sure sometimes attacking feels a little light compared to Zero/K1 and there’s some jank with the enemy pathing and ragdolling into buildings/the sky, but I really enjoyed how fast it feels.

My friend put a copy of Advent Children on mine. It was my first introduction to anything Final Fantasy. I had no idea what was going on and because of how prominent they were I assumed Rude and Reno were main party members in FF7.
