If everyone's pay and quality of life improves it won't be as bad or even potentially bad at all. This is why things like single payer healthcare and subsidies and price control are important. We need to all become richer together through communal benefits.

War is unpopular and thus he'll see resistance from folk who see the war as a drain on what will most likely be in the future an economically fragile nation, especially if it goes poorly or if he targets NATO allies as part of his campaign. The US hasn't faced a military peer in a long time.

Ita not so much about what he wants as it is how people will look at him going forward. As I've said wars aren't popular, if he starts a war even against places the US population don't see as allies its going to negatively affect him.

There's elements of complications to that too though like if states go along with it and many states need immigrants for their economy, Florida is already failing under current restrictions around not using undocumented immigrants.

Trump got kicked out in part due to that tbf and the national debt and economic turmoil was handed off to Biden, who has only somewhat patched over it. Plus Trumps Tarrifs will be an immediate obvious issue to working class folk trying to buy food or gas, as well as other things.

There's not much he can do there. Like the tarrifs thing will toss the cost directly onto the consumer, hard. There's no service to gut when the money being taken is the publics. Debt will be a serious issue for the Republicans though.
