It never occurred to her to try, and if it had been offered to her she'd have said "Oh no, you know me, I don't like anything fancy".
And it didn't occur to me to offer because I can't eat spicy food myself.
But there probably would have been some new flavours out there she'd have enjoyed.

That probably also gives the security clearance thing more weight in alienating constituents.
People who will lose their job if they opt out of security clearance are probably going to be put off by someone insisting on not getting a security clearance but also keeping the job.

I appreciate how the first sign elaborates on *why* dogsleds might be a danger!
In my capacity as an ignorant city mouse, my first thought is "Oooh, doggies!"

Caveat: not a medically-knowledgeable smartypants, am a person whose body does this from time to time.
I find the way to clear it is to eat a couple of soda crackers or a slice of dry bread

So basically we spent one class marking the first word in the sentence as "subject" and the rest as "predicate", and had no other formal grammar in English class for the rest of my school career.
(I learned all my formal grammar in other language classes)

To be scrupulously honest, I have no way of knowing if people are actually following me because I'm on that list. But the correlation is perfect.

Apart from the fact that dude on the left looks cuddlier, dude on the right looks like a guy who is very technical about fitness and nutrition.
My father is very technical about fitness and nutrition, which taught me that's not I want in a partner. It doesn't leave enough room for joy.

That makes sense, thank you!
Some of the discourse that was reaching me left me with the impression that China was refusing to export to US, which didn't align with my understanding of how tariffs work.

(The flaw in that analogy is it doesn't capture the fact that AI pushers are trying to profit from stealing other people's work while also eliminating those people's livelihoods)

Analogy: AI pushers are like people telling me to drive to the grocery store.
My grocery store is across the street. To drive, you'd have to go in the opposite direction and around the block (because 1 way streets), which takes longer, is more difficult, and is more polluting.

Cell phones are here to stay, and I'm not going to use it when a computer is better fit for purpose.
Cars are here to stay, and I'm not going to drive across the street or somewhere with a direct transit route

LLMs are kind of a mid-process tool, not a final output tool. (At least, they *shouldn't* be a final output tool), and I can't think of anything else where random people not involved in the process or not experts in the process are arguing against NOT using a mid-process tool that you find unhelpful

But the argument there is not that the tech itself is objectively useful, it's that the output meets end-user needs.
The use or lack thereof of LLMs is not going to make or break the output meeting end-user needs. (Although, if you don't catch all the issues, it might fail to meet user needs)

Now, sometimes we have to use specific tech for other reasons, outside the scope of whether the tech itself is objectively useful.
For example, everyone using an agreed-upon file format. Then we can all open the file. If I delivered my translations as a handwritten letter, that wouldn't be useful
