There used to be a lot of stuff in this space. Also, I can't find any of my good profile photos.

Reminds me of the bit in The Simpsons, with Homer dicking around at the US embassy in Australia.

It’d be nice if the players and staff went back to the actual ritual of singing it with the fans. The home wins last week felt flat without it. Almost like the club is trying to disconnect.
Also, why are these posts coming up almost 24hrs late on bsky?

It wouldn’t be the Caps without ruining the clean sheet bonuses through some boneheaded play.

I can feel the clean sheet bonuses recoiling in defeat upon reading of this skeet.

Liberals need to get their attack ad on natty TV too. I’m getting it on YT these days and it’s not bad as far as they go.

Obviously the same thing they’re doing to all of the other populations they don’t want

We are doomed by birthright to watch mediocre midtable teams with no risk of relegation, only risk of franchise sales and moving to God-knows-where, USA.

This offseason has been pretty high up there in terms of Most Disappointing #VWFC Offseasons All-Time. Only reason to mark the date is the first time the supporters get to voice our frustrations in front of the Apple TV cameras.

Ownership, even as they go to divest themselves of the club, continue to show new ways about how they don’t care about finding success on the field.

Unfortunately, I think that’s true too. Even more worrisome is the reports of *why* Stu wanted out. If there’s any truth to that - big yikes.

Sneaking suspicion that cap space just sits unspent because the owners want to consolidate with a shrinking C$ and the sale in the works…

Welp. I already had colossal doubts about Axel’s player acquisition and management lately, and this is just adding more #AxelOut vibes for me

That’s what I figured, unless they’re doing the ol’ hockey trick of showcase him to find more suitors.

Think there’s any smoke to that report? We don’t have the best track record with Scottish DPs after all…

Probably sleeping but I haven’t graduated to putting them in a surveillance state yet so I could check on them while I’m at work. So I just assume they’re sleeping.

Yep, just seeing that now. Except it’s at the destination instead of YVR, lol.
Could this announcement be any more of a shitshow?

In the 90s it would’ve been a cinematic rolling shot as they race through YVR to make it on time for the announcement

I’d love to see what Axel’s pitch to Fafa is to try and get him to stay now. Most of the decisions today I agreed with - but I would have just taken the option and if things didn’t work out, he has trade value.

Great article, JJ. I said this yesterday to Manuel Veth that Axel is going to have a short leash with supporters to get this next appointment right, because ultimately the roster depth that couldn’t meet the unspoken goals of ownership is of his own construction.

We’ll see how this pans out - I consider myself hardcore-adjacent as a supporter, and I don’t plan on giving Axel a very long leash on the next HC appointment - can’t imagine how the supporters’ groups feel about this decision either. We had better see that “new direction and energy” get results.

Exactly. He’s been in place longer - even decisions on some players that Vanni inherited are on Axel’s books. Even more problematic for me is, at a time when fan engagement is finally on the rise again, why fire an *immensely* popular manager for a slight regression in objective success?

I think this decision is going to be one that haunts Axel in the near future. Vanni had his flaws, but MLS’s inane league scheduling forcing us to play two-a-weeks for the final two months of the season is a huge contributor, especially with the true lack of quality in depth for the squad.
