Just a lil observation. If you're afraid of fucking up with pronouns, afraid of repercussions... Don't be. If it's an honest mistake, just apologize, correct and move on. It's the /deliberate/ use of the wrong pronouns that's an issue, not lil human mistakes. Never be afraid of a mistake.
