Also if you feel strongly about Eric Adams, you should call your city councilmember to express that and ask for their position. You’d be surprised. Hochul’s stance is highly disappointing but it doesn’t come from nowhere. Press all your electeds. City elections are in 5 months. Ask candidates too.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

NYT Games taking more of a stand than the paper 😂

We know it’s tempting to give into cynicism or despair right now. So let us tell you what keeps us going: We are in daily communication with Members of Congress and senior staff who want to see a unified opposition as well. They are fighting on the inside to build that opposition. 🧵

Seriously, how hard would it be for the Senate and House Ds to have a morning joint press conference, 7 days a week, contesting Trump's assault on the US right now? Could be a different Senator and House Member each day. We are in a national emergency right now. Our leaders need to act that way.

If you live in New York State and think Gov. Kathy Hochul should remove the corrupt mayor of NYC, give her a call or send her a letter.

Government funding runs out on March 14. Republicans can’t pass a bill alone, so Democrats have real leverage here. We’re calling on Democrats to commit to withholding their votes and insist on an end to the Trump-Musk coup rampaging across the government.

People around the country are asking Senate Dems to fight back. But today, 22 Senate Dems voted for yet another Trump nominee (Collins for VA). If yours voted the right way, thank them. If they voted the wrong way, do what you can to let your entire community know and express disapproval.

Convo with my friend from Hungary tonight who left after Orban’s election. She said “your head will spin with all the wild stuff they try to pull, new things every day, but don’t take your eyes off the money. It’s all about the money, and what they’re stealing, and for whom.”

From my 2020 book HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT. Please stop quoting my work without attribution.

Enough. The Democrats must shut down the Senate and use their power. Stop voting for these idiots. Stop all unanimous consent. Demand answers. Filibuster. Where is the fucking outrage?

1/ OK, Democratic members of Congress in the US Senate. It’s time for some tough love. I am aware your pollsters and consultants tell you things like “the American people want us to work together” and “ focus on prescription drug prices in the economy.”

When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. Take inspiration from it.

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive): 1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment* 2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything 3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can 4. Citizens march en mass

It has now officially been confirmed. We have reached the singularity

A lot of people on this site lamenting the state of the mainstream media are continuing to click, repost, and engage with their content.

Sloppy. We’ve been told they better prepared & well organized for 2.0 but I’m seeing a lot of cracks in the facade and that’s an opportunity for people who love democracy to protect it.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

The Democratic leadership are like a bad ex—they spent months asking me for money and now they’ve disappeared

"But it's illegal." So what? Republicans don't care. They have power. They flex it when they have it. They will literally tell Dems and America: "OK, try to stop us. You can't. Cry harder, Libs!" and then laugh. This is the next 4, 8, 12 years...unless...we understand what we're up against.

It's time for Democrats to vote no on Trump everything. All nominees, anything else. You are otherwise empowering a fascist whether some nominees are better than others. Only your base will remember who you confirmed or didn't confirm--and you will need the base next year.

Four examples of Democratic messaging since yesterday. I know which one I'm supporting. And voting for.

Is AOC the only one fighting for us?
