Hi, Sharon! I don’t post much, but I get about 80% of my news here. Sometimes I just say something snarky.

then homemade shepherds’ pie, salad, & cheesecake, then a beef/noodle dish, salad & cookies, then baked potato soup, honey butter muffins, salad, and lemon cake. I’ve never eaten better, my fridge is full of leftovers, and my sister will be flying up on Tuesday to take over. Im overwhelmed with love

So, knowing my husband could handle most of the recovery care but that I would be subjected to fast food takeout and frozen meals, I put out a request for help with meals. Before I was even out of the hospital, I already had lentil soup and bread waiting for me, then Indian food, then Thai, 2/3?

This past week we’ve drug out the tree, put away ornaments and pulled down the excess, storing it all back in the basement, but leaving the decorations on the mantel and the winter scene on the pool table. I’m hoping that’s just enough left to cheer me in recovery during the dark of January

I kind of overdid it this year. Knowing we’d be out of state for Christmas week, we got our tree a bit earlier than usual, left the house in good care and returned home to a very dry tree and hip surgery scheduled for the 6th. 1/2

Thank you. I’m trying to address the things I can do something positive about. I’m 63 and assumed my 73 year old husband would be the one facing such issues before I did

and environmental nightmares. I am determined, though, to do what I can to fight my fears and feel great going into 2026.

After my hip surgery, I can now start my “memory meds.” The delay was due to not getting an appointment with my new neurologist until Dec. 30, (4 and a half months after my brain diagnosis.) I wonder if 2025 will bring more scary heath issues and even scarier political 2/3

I think often how quickly those 3 could have drowned in the icy waters had we not been close by. It could have been any of us…

There we deposited them, shivering, and turned out canoes back toward the rental dock at the other end of the lake, anxious to send a powered rescue boat, but before we got there we saw the power boat head out. Someone on the shoreline hiking trail had seen the whole thing and reported it.

We, along with another nearby canoe, immediately headed to the 3 in the water, as they were immediately struggling in the freezing water. We had the 3 cling to the sides of the two canoes (so as not to risk overturning ourselves by pulling them onboard) as we headed to the closest shore.

This lake has a special place in my heart. Years ago we rented a canoe to experience the glacial waters. While out in the middle, we watched a canoe with 3 people apparently having trouble and they overturned their boat.
