Re: yesterday's posts about doomerism. Now is the time to help and ask for help. I know it's hard, but seeking out a conversation when you're scared or depressed is almost always going to feel better than screaming into the void and waiting for someone to notice. I know from experience lol

Ahh! ITS BIRD ME

Our lords spent so long dreaming themselves gods, they came to believe it. As they would have us believe, as they fly beneath the sun on wings of wax. As they make a foe of truth, as their blades chip and dull against her armor. They may spill an ocean of blood, to learn no king may rule the tides.

One of my favourite things anyone has ever said about art. You'll be missed, David. 🌹

we vote cartoon evil out and blistering incompetence takes over, until everyone loses patience and decides evil wasnt that bad, which eventually loses its shine and people think well incompetence must surely have been better, but that quickly gets tiring and evil looks attractive again

If the purpose of a machine is what it does, is social media often not the gamification of recuperation - a slot machine that pays out whenever someone finds a novel antibody against sincerity? A mechanism by which radical solidarity is safely dissolved into the alkahest of drama and point-scoring?

One of the most important things about EP Thompson's work that is not often noted is that he chronicles the absolute annihilation of English and Welsh working class and peasant culture. Literally nothing survived the industrial revolution - everything left is a partial Victorian revival.

Décivilisation is actually the title of a book written by Renaud Camus, the French far-right author who invented the Great Replacement Theory. Absolutely unconscionable.

This is plain evil and nothing else. It is a policy spurred on by bogus science that will cause irreparable damage to a generation of kids, all because an ideological crusade has gripped our nation's government and media.

Lots of folks who have presumably played a lot of Monopoly in their lives will insist that the exclusively correct response to such a game is to keep playing. Just be better. Work together. The player with almost all the sets probably cheated somehow. We just need to enforce the rules consistently.

I wrote about the New York Times ignoring the deadly stabbing of a 17-year-old in Manhattan as the paper goes all out on the killing of a rich CEO just up the street. www.mediaite.com/opinion/new-...

Daily bunny no.2787 makes a new friend

I woke up thinking about language and jargon in tabletop role playing games. It’s easy to understand “playing pretend” or “making stuff up with friends”, or even “improv story telling”, but after that, how quickly does it become obscure?

"All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed." —Watership Down
