Www.MichaelDArthur.com I draw performers, I draw live and I make animations. Me, a pen and a piece of paper; that’ll do.

Four Drawings from Red Hook, Brooklyn 2018-2020.

Flashback to the last time this f@cking guy was President.

Pretty excited to be taking the stage on Sunday with this incredible group of people. I’ll be drawing along live, projected on the big screen at @citywinery.bsky.social in NYC! Come hang with us!

Campaign slogan from a few years back. Still true, but toxic now.

Zak Starkey is my new drummer. I will be issuing no further statements.

A drawing I did of Grahame Lesh while he was playing at the Barn the other week…

Got to draw The War and Treaty last week at the Barn. Tremendous band and a good seat too.

Feels like the extent of corruption, illegality and blatant market manipulation we’re experiencing could only be possible without any regulation or oversight, so let’s not complain about how there isn’t a plan in place.

Jesus Christ, whose job was it to read The Boy Who Cried Wolf to this fucking guy?

Making monkfish in lemon caper sauce for my wife and I, a home made tofu burger for my daughter and teriyaki pork for my son tonight for dinner, with noodles and steamed broccoli on the side. This isn’t a home, it’s a short order diner.

In more Dreams Coming True news, I got to collaborate on a video with one of my favorite bands. Check out The Last Payphone by the New Pornographers!

Pretty amazing experience last night, drawing T Bone Burnett and his extraordinary band (Dennis Crouch, Colin Linden and David Mansfield), perform a show for the first time in 20 years. You can’t really see her in the drawing, but Kate Pierson was sitting there, across from where I was working.

Doodle from a ways back for a bit of palate cleansing.

I wonder how automakers feel about being this week’s collateral damage in Trump’s distraction campaign.

Throwback Thursday…

Trump clearly never read the story of the boy who cried Tariff.

Hegseth just texted me his ATM PIN number, his Netflix login and a pocket selfie.

Speaking as a guy who draws but lately makes music videos, all songs should be three minutes.

Read a fucking book, man.

Everyone should be screaming like this! More of this, now please!

Suzanne Vega, with a response… youtu.be/IejCc2s6zQk?...

Suzanne Vega has a new album coming for the first time in eleven years and, if you’re like me, this first single—The Speakers’s Corner—is gonna resonate. I’m so grateful that she asked me to make this video. Watch it and share it: youtu.be/IejCc2s6zQk?...

Disgustingly true.

Good morning. (Cartoon by Don Martin)

I’m just walking around the kitchen, making breakfast for the kids and singing If I Could Turn Back Time on a loop. Thanks a lot, Lorne.

Here’s a subway sketchbook drawing from a few years back. An F train quickie…

The Audacity of Stupid.

I once shared a stage with Eric Adams when he was a guest on Catie Lazarus’s Employee of the Month Show and I’m here to tell you, in addition to being a criminal, he’s an asshole.

I didn’t vote for Elon Musk. I didn’t buy his car. I quit Twitter soon after he bought it. And still, there he is. How do I turn this thing off?

It’s not really about saying the quiet part out loud anymore. He and his have no quiet part. The only quiet they want is from us.

Started watching Buster Keaton movies from 1924-25 with my kids and it’s really satisfying how much they love them. Also satisfying how, when the “cannibals” showed up in the Navigator, my ten year old son said, “that’s so racist.”

Just boarded L at Union Square and I’m here to tell you that you can’t live if living is without hearing that high note in Without You played on a pan flute.

Chuck Prophet and Cumbia Shoes, last night at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock. Fiery and inspired show, which, beyond the great music and playing, reminded me that speaking your mind can be simple and transformative. Loved hanging out and drawing this one.

Just saw an embedded ad for official Beatles Crocs and that does it, they’ve jumped the shark. Also, pausing federal grants is a good way to say Republicans don’t give a fuck about people. Is this how I have to post now? Something frivolous and offhand with a follow up to say we’re in the shit.

The final episode of the Penguin made me want every second I spent watching that show back.

American surrealism is the new realism.

No oversight and no checks and balances. Anyways, here’s a drawing about today, I did last time around.

Sunday, February 2nd, I’ll be joining this incredible lineup at city Winery, NYC for the first Cabinet of Wonders of the new year. Wonder what I’ll draw for a start.

I just paid twenty dollars more than Amazon charges for a box of fine art printing papers to a company that just settled a discrimination case out of court because there are fewer and fewer choices in this world and I’m choking on trying to be good.

If you’re a fan of music and wonder what a restless zen mind sounds like when reflecting, check out this interview with my dear friend, Josh Kaufman conducted by one of my other friends, Cindy Howes. basicfolk.com/josh-kaufman...
