More like PT Barnum taking on a snake oil salesman.

It would be helpful if any of this contempt would manifest into actual action and momentum.

This has been going on at least as long as Magic having Paul Westhead replaced in 1981.

It doesn't bother me that they sought input from key players on a coaching change. Becoming common in today's sports. Not thrilled that they aired that out, though. Unless it was a direct answer to a reporter's question, they should have kept it to themselves.

There were confirmed reports in March about players asking for starter minutes to be reduced. We had 5 in the top 25 in minutes played, including the top 2. Too extreme. For me, bringing a hurt & exhausted OG back into the 4th quarter of the Boston blowout was the final nail.

Megill & Peterson used to be looked at as a pair. Peterson has grown into a solid starter. Megill has slid to "healthy arm". Blackburn is back; Montas will follow; Manaea a few weeks away from rehab; 6-man rotation temporary. It all adds up to a trip out of town for Megill, maybe as part of a trade.

Baty earned the spot, even before the injury. It does crack the door open for Mauricio to come up, but he needs to play everyday for a while, not split time.

When he can stay healthy, he's still a 5-Tool player.

I still remember picking up their "At Home He's a Tourist / It's Her Factory" 45 at a little shop on Prince St and hearing them for the first time. Revolutionary indeed π

Mauricio has been snakebit by injuries, but I really respect the way he keeps working his way back. I hope his time is finally coming. The guy hits the ball wicked hard.

July 29th-31st, 2015. To understand Wilmer, you have to understand those dates etched in his, #Mets & NY's shared history. Wilmer was a Met for 11 years, from the time he signed & moved away from home at 16. Wilmer is a Met for life. Nothing is going to change that.

I like the short rotation in the playoffs. I just wish Thibs had rested them more (or at all) during the regular season, so they would have more left in the tank for a deep run.

Replay is on ESPN now, in case anyone needs reassurance that their eyes saw what they saw.

Darryl?
Figured with the slow start, then the lean years of the mid to late 70's, it took about 20+ years.

I'm glad the Pirates chose not to add any offense to that pitching staff, other than window dressing like bringing McCutchen home so he can retire as a Pirate.

Good to see them keep on adding runs until the game is over. Production starting to come from the whole lineup, top to bottom. I like the aggressiveness on the basepaths, even though it bites us sometimes. Mike Sarbaugh has a good feel directing traffic. He seems like a keeper.
