Back from band practice, which was challenging as our drummer called in sick. I had to provide the beats as well as the keys which is do-able but it isn’t as good as a real drummer, and gets in the way of my playing. Having the perfect post-rehearsal snack - steamed dumplings, with soup inside.

Spent the afternoon pounding the pavement delivering letters and leaflets before the local elections this coming week. A good way to get my step count in and top up the (non-existent) tan. Packing up my equipment and heading to band practice now. To be honest, I could do with a quiet night in!

Because annoying her will make things better? This might be why she prefers lunch with the ex. Just turn up at the same restaurant and ask for an explanation as to why she felt the need to keep the meet-ups a secret. That’s more the issue than them still being friends (assuming it’s not FWBs)

I love that there’s a debate in the comments about “smeg” being/not being a made-up word (I’d always believed it was short for smegma - ie. knob cheese). I’m not quite sure why there was the need to censor the swear words though - given that they were the very subject matter at hand.

Cooking a char-grilled pepper and pancetta linguine. It’s a dish which requires an acceptable amount of fiddly chopping to prep the garlic, chilies, basil, storks and char-grilled peppers.

I’ve just stopped work for the week, and have come downstairs and am sitting on the sectional sofas on my deck. For once, it’s peaceful. No power tools or noisy petrol mowers, no screaming kids or shitty dance music, just birdsong. Bliss. I should really be sorting out what to cook for dinner.

Ugh. A night of little-to-no-sleep. Not sure why either. I was tired, had no booze, and there were no disturbances, beyond Stanley acting a bit weird. If I was Gen-Z, I’d be too tired to turn up at work. Sadly my Gen-X work ethic is ever present.
