What does it say about me that I had the thought "16-bit floating point number" and began laughing uncontrollably

Finally catching up on RCBG by @tpwrtrmnky.bsky.social and @taliabhatt.itch.io and... these characters clearly aren't strategizing well at all??? Like it's a competitive game run largely through the computer, so why aren't you abusing glitches to get a speedrun done?

I think one of the things that explains the most about me as a person is that one of the first ten or so youtube channels I subscribed to, a little over a month after I turned 12, was Retro Game Mechanics Explained. Still absolutely love it and all “detailed explanation of old game code” channels <3

There are few phrases as simultaneously horrifying and funny as “treating the Geneva Convention as a checklist.” 10/10

XORSHIFT is such a simple and elegant RNG algorithm that it's insane to me that it was only created in the 2000s. Like what do you mean a great way to generate random numbers using some of the fastest operations and like 3 lines of code wasn't found in the 70s or smth

WHY DID I CLICK ON A POST AVOUT GRAPHICS IN A VIDEOGAME SUBREDDIT WHY WHY WHY I REGRET EVERYTHING I HATE MY LIFE WHT DID I DO THAT AAAAa

I think the world would be significantly better if everyone responded to being wrong like I do: going and doing a ton of research about the thing they were wrong about until they know more about it than most people. It'd make things a lot better overall, honestly
