When I was 11 or so I saw a video by Sethbling where he made a little neural net to play Super Mario World, that was my first introduction to AI
I really wish we had focused more on that path and stuck with NEAT and the like instead of all the generative AI we have now

Before the game came out, I thought people wouldn't really care about Tenna and simply dismiss him as a budget Spamton. I'm glad everyone seems to like him just fine. I see those two as intentionally similar characters who mutually enhance each other. You know, like Spy vs. Spy.

Like seriously, have none of these people seen ANY of the speedrun strats? Or are they just all too focused on "legitimate play" instead of victory?
Idk maybe when I finally fully catch up it'll make more sense, but jesus christ these people all have terrible strats

5. Use the "reactivate account" feature to get put back in, you'll be the only one not eliminated (the "tribunal" scenes are skipped if you don't have an Accord account because you can't view them, so everyone gets knocked out by default)
6. Enjoy your victory
(this still works on latest patch)

Here's one easy-win run:
1. Start the run
2. Quicksave as soon as you have the HRT
3. Set your system clock forward to the end of the competition
4. Use one of the various "nuke" strats to expose everyone, but delete your Accord account as you send the nuke message (this is frame perfect)

My go-to strategy is look at the etymology of relevant words and then re-derive something based on that
Of course, usually I just get distracted and end up with 2 windows of 20+ tabs each about etymology, but nonetheless

I’ve got videos I’ve downloaded and partially captioned *in my free time* with plans to eventually send them to the youtubers in emails like “I subtitled your video because you didn’t. Please get someone to actually do that in future” (though possibly phrased more passive-aggressively, depending)

Still unclear on why they did it. I remember the reason being something like “vandalism” but I never once saw that. Instead we’re stuck with shitty autocaptions for 99% of videos because most people don’t bother with subtitles, and everything is worse for that

Like how the fuck is this a solid enough RNG algorithm that it only fails like, two of the definitive "is this random enough" tests. It's stupid simple. How does this have a period of 2^32-1

Also they’re both Gamemaker games starting a non-binary protagonist and made (well, development lead) by someone who cites Earthbound as a major influence

Alright finally got a normal keyboard
I don’t like the first one that much
I’m also not quite a fan of the latter one
Annoying trying to type on those keyboards, so many missing letters

I’m doubtful that any fake kinks can be invented deliberately, considering how many people there are
That said, if you can achieve it I’ll be quite impressed

at the end of the day it's a lot harder to support someone when they're not actually accepting it, and accepting support is in and of itself a kind of self-care
comment in response to
post
I think ultimately communal care is important, but that it's significantly less effective when self-care isn't being used too.
That said, self-care is usually a lot *easier* with communal support, so it's kind of a chicken/egg situation

Also doesn't help that I pushed away a lot of my support network, though.
But I doubt that they thought like that, more often it's things like "they seem to not actually want support because of [x action]" or "I can't support someone else right now because I'm barely functioning myself".

I can relate to the second point, I've also had a lot of times where I feel like I needed a lot more support than I actually got, but I think a lot of my cries for help went ignored because of my other masking and the fact that I tend to cope with humour.

I think I determine it with "is this person getting a lot of emotional support, support with other things, etc, to the point which there isn't any room left for support unless they themselves fully accept it or act on it"? It's hard to quantify something that's more "vibes" based than anything.

I also had a lot of emotional issues which I hadn't (and still haven't really) dealt with, because I would care for others because it was easier than caring for myself, and I'd reject help because that would mean.. actually having to process things and do some self-care and reflection, which is hard

In high school I helped multiple people through suicide attempts, self-harm, eating disorders, and other fucked up stuff, but one of the things which actually made measurable improvement was when people actually cared for themselves as a basis. The other stuff was band-aids until that happened.

I think that I've probably had a history with a lot of people with harder shells (myself included) than you have, and for a lot of people accepting care (or self-care) is a lot harder and done a lot less than caring for others.

sure that loved ones aren't neglecting to eat and the like.
It's hard to get someone to be properly cared for when they don't care for themselves, and communal care won't help if somebody won't (or can't) accept it.

*could* accept it and maybe in fact deserved it. Just basic self-care things like sleeping and eating well are almost requirements for being able to actually accept and use the care from others in a productive way. Not to say that care from others can't jumpstart that process, like making ...

Speaking for myself, I've had a lot of care from others for my entire life, especially during my teenage years, which were quite rough.
But all of the support and care fell flat and was wasted because I didn't internalize any care from others because I hadn't gotten around to processing that I ...

I've rarely seen someone who self-cares who doesn't care for others, but I've seen far too many people who put a great deal of care into others while not caring for themselves.
I suspect you've had a bit of a different experience though, with how you're phrasing your points

I've had many friends who've been well cared-for by their friends, but because of their own lack of self care, the external support doesn't help much and they stay stuck in a lower point.
At the same time, these people will usually care a lot for others because of various things.
