Your Tax Day reminder. 🤬

It's interesting that the response to "we should tax wealth" is overwhelmingly "that won't work, they'll run away" or "Some other countries did it and stopped again". So you agree it's a problem, but it's hard to figure out a good solution. Oh ok we should just give up and forget about it then.

A billionaire can easily, passively, make 50 million per year. 130,000 per day. 5700 per hour. The next year even more. Yet that insane passive income gets taxed less than actual hard work by working people. We need to get that money back into the economy, working for the people.

4.5 million children are already living in poverty in the UK. Labour had a choice. They could have rebalanced our economy by taxing the super-rich fairly. Instead they CHOSE to remove vital support from ill and disabled people. We won't let them forget it.

It's quite illuminating that people say if we increase taxes on the rich they will leave. Yet they are not worried about the same people leaving because of poor public services, homelessness or lack of a good consumer market. Look after your working and middle classes, you need them!

With Labour implementing Tory policies and rising wealth inequality still being swept under the carpet, the Green party now have an opportunity to be taken seriously and gain a lot of support, but they need to step up. With Reform on the other extreme the two party system might be about to break.

Starting to wonder if Rachel Reeves is a Russian asset, these Welfare cuts targeting the most vulnerable, seem so sadistic and so unnecessary that a deliberate act of sabotage seems like the most logical explanation. Not even the Tories stooped this low.

bbc.com/news/article... it wasn't too long ago that Starmer said that the "Broadest shoulders" should bear the heaviest burden. Now we have welfare cuts targeting disabled people.

New polling shows overwhelming support for a wealth tax.

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025... Not all of them, just the poor ones, the rich are doing better than ever. That's what happens when you only tax income and NI, ignoring wealth and distribution. It will never get better unless we rebalance that distribution. Tax wealth.

The richest person in the UK has around 37 billion, which about 120,000 times the median UK net wealth. They could afford to give everyone in the UK £500. With that wealth, invested at a 5% return, they can make an extra 1.85bn per year. Meanwhile we out here are punishing disabled people.

Neoliberalism rewards ruthlessness, risk taking, selfishness, individualism, greed, nepotism and concentrates power to individuals with those traits. It's not hard to see why this also leads to fascists, racists and psychopaths gaining incredible power. We need something else. Tax wealth not work!

You would have to get £3600/hour, every hour, for 665 years to reach the average wealth of the ten richest people in the UK: £21 billion. The Govt is now planning to make billions in cuts to the poorest. It should tax the super rich instead. Take action with us: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/ta...

Reeves cutting welfare, blaming problems on low productivity and "lazy" disabled people or those suffering mental health crisis, instead of looking at growing inequality. Looks like we aren't that different from the Oligarchy in the US after all.

Chancellor Rachel reeves has overspent she’s desperate to penalise those in need disabled.OAPs. Children with special education needs. Just some she’s hurting. The rich are getting richer thanks to Labour.

Knock on effects from wealth inequality: * Cost of living crisis * Rise of the far right * Houses/Asset prices skyrocket * People not having kids * Poorer working conditions * Poorer living standards for working people * Oligarchy/Fascism * Failing public services (especially Health&education)

Even while Trump and Vance talked over him, refused to let him speak, lied and took away the prospect of peace for his country, while blaming him for it, he maintained his composure, remained civil, tried to diplomatic and did not capitulate. Amazing courage and strength against two a*hole bullies.

A manifesto I'd like to see * Rejoin the EU * Wealth Taxes (on all UK based assets) * Better Immigration control * Fix NHS * UBI or Welfare state Tax incentives for * 4 day work weeks * Profit sharing * Share distribution to workers * Lower ratios between highest and lowest paid workers in company

"Prepare for difficult times" - For anyone celebrating DOGE cutting all this waste. Where are the savings going?

The fact that Elon Musk has been allowed to amass 400 billion dollars is the reason he is now able to start dismantling the government of the most powerful country in the world. Wealth inequality is a threat to democracy. Other democratic leaders need to learn from this quickly.
