The Milky Way above the Ring of Brodgar, on Orkney. In an otherwise clear sky, it was "disappointing" to have that band of cloud that just didn't want to disperse. The bright light on the clouds is from the town of Stromness, where we had docked a few hours earlier. #Photography

I have a big cold. Such congestion, it is like city traffic, only one lane (nostril) is open

Very unusual to see a Robin in Southern Manitoba in January...seems to be doing fine and has been through some pretty brutal temps! #birds

Here’s something to think about as you kick off 2025: ✨We are all stardust.✨ Every atom of oxygen in our lungs, of carbon in our muscles, of calcium in our bones, of iron in our blood—was created inside a star before Earth was born. Image: NASA Hubble Space Telescope, CC BY 2.0, flickr

In this X-ray image, the giant elliptical galaxy M87 shows evidence of outbursts from the central supermassive black hole. The loops and bubbles in the hot, X-ray emitting gas are relics of small outbursts close to the black hole (Credit: NASA/CXC/CfA/W. Forman et al.)

Outer space is always able to amaze me.

20 years ago today, a tiny neutron star reached halfway across the galaxy and slammed our planet with a gamma-ray hammer. www.scientificamerican.com/article/an-e... 🧪🔭

An amazing spectacle in Vela constellation! The filaments and clouds are remnants of a supernova explosion 11,000 years ago Despite being 800 light-years away, it's among the nearest remnants to us (Credit: ESO/VPHAS+ team. Acknowledgement: Cambridge Astronomical Survey Unit)

The Storm Of A Trillion Stars

Don’t be a mean person.

I learned a new English word: colexification When two words have such a close relationship as to be inseparable 100% linguistically
