"there is absolutely nothing you can do to affect anything here, you are unable to change any of these choices in the slightest whether you're mean or nice, so unless you can afford to take us to court, sucks to be you" is perhaps not a good message to take but it does seem to be how things work

you're left with the ignored phone calls, the ignored letters, ignored emails, ignored social media posts, and the town halls that, if they do them, still seem to blow off the audience. lobbyist groups aren't just bribes, they become 'real' to these politicians in a way you, Joe Rando, can't.

thinking back to the original Secret Wars, where a weakly godlike entity wanted to know if good would beat up evil or vice versa, so it made an arena planet out of all the best facilities and corridors from across the universe

as an example of what I might miss: the interstitial at the end of today's episode mentioned a king and a prince. because I blanked on their names, I assumed those were the king and prince from the first case and imagined a scenario where the king's death was being covered up.

can't talk much about the rest of it, of course. Maybe the cases didn't seem quite as tight as the previous ones but it's hard to know if that's because there were clues and implications I didn't get

i'm not familar with the case, I don't have access to the killer's private messages, I can't evaluate the view laid out here but I'm guessing the objection was along the lines of 'how dare you treat a mass killer like a human with understandable motives and not some kind of demon'

'stories from a 15 minute conversation with a single professor' cool, you found one guy with a 15-minute bit about how dumb kids are nowadays, like that would be a rare find in any decade in history
