Update: I did try to get into Earthbound. While I did enjoy the overall vibe / characters, I couldn't get into the gameplay. Which, to be fair, it's a fairly old game, so it can't be super flashy. You can't enjoy/play everything, and that's OK! This might be a 'watch on YouTube' game for me.

Finally caught up on the Shantae series (without pirating). This might be my favorite of the bunch! I think the Shantae series really hits that 'fast-paced' vibe for me, where it sticks with me a little more than other Metroidvania games. Exploration is really fun, too, without being too tedious.
