It is fucking perfect.

Though, it's not as if coexistence is impossible. However it is still difficult, and I do prefer drawing my little guys and gals and nonbinary pals.
I put them in a box and shake them around which brings me joy.

The point is that landscapes have a tendency to eat up much of my time due to how I approach them. I've been trying to change it, though I'm not sure if I'd want that, as I'm fond of my details.

I don't know. I think I contradicted myself back there?
Landscapes have many 'landmarks', but also it does not have them.
I mean that when everything becomes important, nothing is important. Something something incredibles reference something.

That's an example.
I get distracted with wanting to add 'landmarks' to everything, as it is all important. If I gave myself more time, the path would look like the one in my vision.
But I tend to spend too much time on one thing, which usually leads to WIPs.

I got distracted with the large tree to the right, the roots, the shadows. Then I thought about how the land would work with the path, and how to make the texture from the transition of path to not-path soil... I ended up jumping from thinking about that back to the tree to add the spiderweb.

Landscapes give me more trouble as they tend to have many more things that could be a 'landmark', so I have trouble deciding what is worth the time and detail, because it is all important to me.
In the work above, I tried to do the signpost but pivoted to that central tree.

does that make sense?
A standard cup has several things that I could use as 'landmarks'
In terms of shape--the outside wall of the cup is one, the handle is another, the rim a third, the bottom a fourth... You can break it down into digestible parts.

I don't dislike doing background or terrain art, but it takes a long time to decide what to draw as it has less 'landmarks' as humans, animals and other, more focused subjects.
For example, the 'landmarks' for humans can range from the face, to focussing on the hands, to the movement of the body

I will likely disappear again as I am a weak, weak, human being when it comes to women like Argus (Reverse1999) and I don't have her guaranteed.
Also because I found a channel that does Outer Wilds supercuts (eelis) which is perfect.

I think this is a rather minor concern. But with every choice I make in this small idea, I do think about all the possible ways that other related things could be changed too.
I haven't even mentioned the story direction, hahaha!!
Well, there will be regrets either way, so I'll do my best.

of which led to my decision to not have paldean pokemon in the region (partially because I did not purchase scarlet and violet, partially because I did not want to rearrange the teams of the gym leaders that I had finalised)...
Anyway, I worry that I'll be tempted into redoing it all.

I've been working on this since the beginning of sword and shield's release! And have had to (agonisingly) make the choice to not add regional forms, battle transformations such as mega and dynamax, plan out some small parts of the ecosystem and relationship between pokemon in the food chain--

the one from galar that violently shuts people up, but a flying type pokemon is necessary for some important plot progressions.
Perhaps it could just... be ignored?
But the more concessions I make, I'll be tempted to do something similar for the rest...
Which isn't a bad thing, but!!

Lumi already has 3 pokemon, two of which are necessary for story reasons and the other one that acts as a way to establish *his* theme. Having to repeatedly draw 6 pokemon is a lot for someone with low art stamina such as myself!!
I could simply replace honchkrow with the emotion pokemon--

The team is based off of pokemon that look like they're wearing witch hats!! Or pokemon that will evolve into one.
Misdreavus, lampent and honchkrow was the first three intended for the oc team. I was considering to limit it to 3 as he would be travelling with Lumi (seen on the side) and--

wait--is the underside not flat? Is it quite literally the same as the brim of a hat?
If that's the case!! Gah!! I've been doing it wrong this whole time!!! It's not like a witch hat!!! No!
I don't want to have to revise the team again!! I'm so tired of staring at Bulbapedia!!

Elaborating a little--the trainer has difficulty with moving and rotating their right arm due to scarring on the shoulder which makes it inflexible. The range of motion is limited to actions that does not raise the arm too high and tight bends at the elbow.
I will explain further at a later date.

There is not much else in the room, because it is not necessary. This space is like a liminal space; an in-between; temporary.
I could say more, but I should save it in case I end up committing to the idea.

There is no visible bottom to the chasm. The sky is covered with dark clouds, but does not thunder or rain. It is silent where they are. There is a hook in the middle of the room. On that hook hangs a net. When the protagonist entered the room, the net had not been woven yet. It was a long rope.

the scenario is:
the protagonist is the one with a bun. The protagonist is in a room with no exits aside from a window. There is a chasm in the space outside that stretches into the horizon. Across the chasm is a building like the one that they are in. It stretches forever into the chasm and sky.
