Hell yeah, I also started with covers hehe! You'll definitely learn about note length & subdivision, as you mess around haha. Start with super easy songs first, and get a sense for melody & rhythm! :D

Oh, definitely learn the piano roll, and lay down the notes to the metronome haha. Write to a tempo! Load a song instrumental, and follow it's tempo/BPM~
