This is one of the reasons we recommend people remain a safe distance from basking sharks! Not only to avoid disturbing them, but also because this giant shark can be airborne with no warning

Not only is this untrue, but we recently posted about this: bsky.app/profile/iris... It is energetically expensive to swim with their mouths open, so they close them when note feeding. Always make sure to double check that Google AI overview!
