I have this radical lefty belief that voting should be easier than buying a gun.

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it a thousand times more: If you love freedom but don’t care if it applies to everyone, what you actually love is privilege.

Almost worth going back to the other place to post this every day.

WSJ: “.. The crypto tycoons that previous administrations pursued for helping the U.S. government’s foes move their funds—Russian sanctions evaders, Islamic terrorist groups, Mexican drug cartels—are now doing business with the president and members of his inner circle.” www.wsj.com/finance/regu...

Is there a word for this kind of thinking?

Requiring REAL IDs and passports and birth certificates to vote?!? Imagine if these were required to buy a gun.

Totally, & I cannot stress this enough, sucks that we have been the country that people came to for a better life for them & their posterity, for all our lives, & now because of evil greedy f’d up people we are the country people want to flee FROM rather than TO. This is the worst plot twist ever.

Pam Bondi would have issued a public statement if Governor Shapiro's home had been a Tesla dealership and called it terrorism

Seems pretty clear that doge is a total scam

Did you know? The word “trumpery” appeared in the 15th century with the meanings “deceit” or “fraud”. 100 years later, it was being applied to objects of little or no value. Then in the 1900’s, it came to mean “showy but worthless”. — Today, it is equated with “fascist shit”.

Night night, all. Let’s try to rest. #caturday

How do we even begin to fight this level of corruption?

Passover celebrates the Jews breaking free from the bondage of tyrants, and the worshipping of false, golden idols some 3,200 years ago—so glad we got all that out of the way and don’t have to deal with that kind of shit today.

Following court orders: mandatory. Following the Constitution: mandatory. Hope that clears things up.

How many places can you visit that offer free admission and programs for people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, religions, and economic statuses? The answer is your local library.

USDA programs that fund the purchase of local farm-fresh foods for school cafeterias and fund much of the product available in food banks were cut for 2025, amounting to more than $1 billion in purchasing. Here's how these changes are affecting those relying on this food across the country:

I sure hope we can soon fully dispense with the idea that the accumulation and hoarding of wealth is in any way correlated to intelligence or superiority of any kind.

The White House wants to break up @noaa.gov, just as OMB Director Russ Vought proposed in Project 2025. Some work moved to DHS. Climate work phased out. New redirection to boost fossil fuel production. Howard Lutnick falsely claimed this exact plan would not happen. www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

NEW on @npr.org: A DOGE staffer working in the Social Security Administration has been pushing questionable claims about noncitizens voting — apparently using data that court records suggest DOGE shouldn't have. More on the claims and the latest in DOGE access concerns:

Phoenix Hits Triple Digits! 🌡️🔥 Yesterday, the city reached 100 degrees for the first time this year, tying the daily record high for April 10 set in 1989 and 2018. The average date for the first 100-degree day is May 2.

Offshore drilling puts coastal communities, marine life, and local economies at risk. “We couldn’t go to the beach. We wouldn’t eat seafood. Many friends lost jobs because it affected tourism. Everybody paid a price.” -JJ Waters, Pensacola Beach resident

AI may well provide ways to cut climate pollution in certain sectors. But no one can state confidently today that it'll decrease emissions more than the data center boom is driving them up. So lofty promises shouldn't earn the industry a pass on that (too often dirty) energy consumption.
