I just got mine yesterday. Looking forward to testing it out.

I actually bought an older pi to do just this but never got around to setting it up (too many distractions).
Looking forward to the video.

Thanks for the tip. Will have to look into this.

This one has a special place for me as it's the first one I bought with my own money from working.

In a related note, I discovered yesterday I can't say "Norse mythology" without a strange lisp that I don't have otherwise.

Also, I had the cheesiest strategy in C&C Gold multiplayer.

Very cool. Thanks for the recommendation. This will be helpful.

Yeah, my WAF is actually quite high for the system overall. She expressed her missing it earlier this year when we had a flood and I had the servers off for 3 days.
The voice assist is what I'm currently working on. I was sharing the milestone and it was evident the excitement wasn't shared 🤣

Wow, that woman can get fucked. I'm not sure they even read or comprehend their own words.

I have a silverstone rm51. It's 5U and fits the biggest of GPUs and a noctua nh-d15 as well.

Look into lithopanes. Here's a lamp I made my wife a few years back. Fully 3d printed. Holds 5 lithopanes panels that are easily swappable.

They do that in my neighborhood as well. It's great.

Would a recumbent bike be doable?

That's a fair take. Personally I think the person who doesn't want to learn TrueNAS is better served by unraid.
If the price was cheaper I'd likely feel different, but currently it's more expensive than unraid at its normal pricing.
The current discounted price is with most features only promised.
comment in response to

I think the long term pricing is bad. They're targeting a more beginner friendly user but are more expensive than unraid.
Also, I'm not sure that beginner user is ready for zfs requirements. This coming from someone with three TrueNAS servers.

That's actually super impressive! They don't make 'em like they used to.

That's honestly what I'd do. I've actually got two drives left as cold spares after swapping one in recently.
I try to keep an eye out for killer deals on used enterprise drives throughout the year.
After a full badblocks test I feel confident enough in them.

I like how after that whole unhinged rant, where they were so confident in their affirmations, they didn't have the balls to sign it.

Damn that's bad luck. You just had a bad drive the other day.

I will say, at least with the worm drive clamp, I don't think the unit could have handling a valve that required much more force.
At first the unit started to twist in the opposite direction and the n the arm was strong enough to actually fully turn the valve.

I definitely think it'll fit around the pipe fittings. Seems like a question regarding width of the unit and space from the pipe to the wall.
Also not familiar with that particular shutoff valve you have there, but assuming you know if the Aqara valve can support that one.
comment in response to

Yeah, it's hard to tell from the picture. You could maybe buy one to try and return if it doesn't?
comment in response to

Success! Just installed and it works just as expected.
The worm drive clamp for my larger pipes gives a bit of wiggle when the mechanism activates, but it still opened and closed correctly.
If I had smaller pipes I've no doubt it would perfectly firm during operation.

If this is in relation to pve 8 dropping support for devices, I'll add that I've read some older HBA cards were apparently affected as well.
At least in some (maybe all) cases, the solution is to add "iommu=pt"

Don't know if you do home automation. If so, Third Reality ZigBee devices are actually selling below their regular prices. I just stocked up on a bunch more water leak sensors and a couple RGB lights I use for notifications.

Will do! I've been looking forever for a ZigBee one. Plenty of z-wave options but not what I have in my home. Had bad experiences with it at home personally.

I hope, but doubt, that it'll drop the rebar dependency for any reasonable performance.

I actually just read that review this morning, haha. Looked on z2m supported devices list too and claims to be supported.
Went ahead and ordered one to give it a shot.

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, Aqara just released this ZigBee valve. I'm just trying to suss out if it works only with their hub or is open ZigBee proper.

Also, take a look behind your rj11 (telephone) jacks if you have them. In newer homes those are many times wired with cat5e cable because it's cheap and easy. That can be re-terminated to rj45 for free Ethernet runs.
comment in response to
post
You didn't ask, but if you have coax everywhere (like most older homes), and you're not using it, then you can use MoCA adapters to transmit very good, reliable and fast Ethernet using those lines.

It's called Underware. Here's the link on printables. It has in the description the YT video by the creator going over it as well.

I don't recall, did you buy a 3d printer? If so I can recommend an excellent project for under table cable management.
