Yet those of us who live in the heart of MAGA country knew all about the malice and incompetence. We knew that they scorned the Constitution and enforced their own version of cancel culture, one that can be even more virulent and threatening than the worst moments on campus.

A better lesson: the Reinhard camps (the extermination camps) were a separate initiative - they were connected to the general plan to murder European Jews but they came out of the T-4 euthanasia sites, not direct descendants of the KZ system.

A Native student told me this was the worst year for eel prices in 20 years. A aquaculture place (harvesting seaweed) laid off their entire workforce. The boats are just sitting on land.
Which means they’re not buying gas, not buying maintenance, supplies, etc.
