Repeating a point I made earlier: In the various Star Trek series, there's a species called the Pakled. The Pakled are absolutely, shockingly stupid. No one is sure how they achieved space travel in the first place. The Pakled are obsessed with becoming strong, and being seen as strong. /1

The worst thing about the fact that the 1930s is now completely out of living memory is that we have to learn all over again that a significant fraction of the wealthy are a bunch of vicious morons who left to their own devices will wreck the economy and the country and then go broke themselves.
