Broke my heart to miss Marissa Tomei, since Mona Lisa Vito is a core memory, but did see Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes. Watching them was like putting on comfortable slippers. I hadn't realized how much their voices filled my life and it makes me want to rewatch TNG and bust out Old Yellow Eyes.

Hit up a few panels. The star for me, the reason I could not miss yesterday, was #heatherfawcett. I saw her, as well as 4 other fantastic female writers, in a panel about reworking fairy tales. I'll be going back today to have her sign my Owl Crate special editions of her Emily Wilde books.

We've already decided we're going to build on this year's costuming so I've got an airbrush on my list of skills to develop. If I'm going to regularly paint my wife green, I'm using a power tool.

...and a subsequent rebuilding of myself. Makes me wonder how many formerly G/T queers struggled with their own identity as part of their need for validation and perfectionism. #HappyPride

I'll be honest, I'm a sucker for a cowl neck. It's cozy.

Sirena Foxglove... definitely sounds like the neighborhood weirdo with an overgrown garden, questionable dignity, and good cookies. Spot on.

Pope Francis died. Ideologies aside, the pope is a major energy shifter. Might be that?

I would recommend @savagesparrow.bsky.social. She did my profile picture and has a really broad portfolio.

This is not a difficult pattern. You need knit and purl stitches and circular needles. No increases or decreases. Might be a great one to try!

ravel.me/zjazja/bu2cxp for the post with all the technical adjustments.

Most of the time, this is the hardest part for me.

When skills like sewing were taught formally, there was an expected base of knowledge. We see this from vintage knitting patterns that assume you already know what size needle to use, etc. But now, most new sewers are learning from YouTube, which means we become the new classroom.

Meanwhile, I've never learned to follow a pattern but instead to draft patterns based on the desired outcome or from existing garments. I opened a pattern once and almost fainted. 😂
It's amazing to see the ways we learn and it's why community is so valuable - so we can guide each other.

She is very involved in laundry folding, very hands-on with her help.

The only voice these guys will listen to is another man's, which is why male allyship must be vocal and involve engaging those who hold these views.

Always there when you need them. I'm glad he made the trip. Thoughts are with you and Carl.

Honestly, I love direct-from-supplier when it's an option.

I'm going to tell you something that we really should say more often - you can always change your handwriting. You are not locked in to the handwriting you graduated high school with. Get a fancy pen to motivate you (fancy being relative and not related to price) and start experimenting. It's fun!

You're such a fucking badass. Have you ever tried harnessing the energy of a storm as a way to focus on something other than the entirely-legitimate anxiety?

Fun story: worked at a yarn store across from a wine bar. Our regular group would take a break midday for wine and lunch, then return. We kept threatening not to help fix errors that they made post-wine...LoL. They were awesome.
