-holding a blanket over the mic and your head too, but it gets hot and it's a workout, obviously haha. The other DIY alternative i've seen is people taking PVC pipe and curtains/large blankets and building a sort of fort style enclosure with the pipes

if you treat it like a blanket fort on top of the normal shield, you'll get maximal results for minimal spending. Tho you COULD achieve a similar effect by just building a little blanket fort style enclosure around a mic stand normally haha. Have done plenty of sessions just standing while holdin-

-but if you wanna extra DIY it, i'd recc like a blanket over top and around the back of your head to maximize your reflection quelling from rooms. It's better than nothing, but still leaves the area of the mic where echo comes back in most prevalent (the front) wide open haha

since hana pinged me not a voice actor, but audio person here wahoo!! these things CAN be helpful, but they have a couple flaws in that they dont cover the top, bottom, or back (behind your head) of the enclosure. These will help from relections coming back into mic from the back and sides a bit-

youtu.be/6c9PQx7S7UI Da link for you! There's so much I don't touch on here, but maybe you'll learn something useful! They may be tired of me pinging them, but thank you @kilohearts.com for making such an incredible tool that allows a silly guy like me to make sound effects in an accessible way.

I can't promise it'll be groundbreaking, I know next to nothing about sound synthesis, but I've been using it literally every day since I got it this past year, an absolutely nuts tool, and I just love sharing my little findings haha! Thanks James!

Finally, the shot where Merry is impaled by the spears thrown by Lumi and Alfi, a very tense climactic moment! I wanted it to get that sort of "WOAH WHAT" reaction sound wise, so the ambiences tail out with reverb, the spears hit hard, and then all sound fades as a cinematic boom comes in for effect

This shot is one I REALLY loved, because it's filled to the brim with destruction and debris sounds, rumbles, and lots of magic oscillating vibes. Gigantic shoutout to @kilohearts.com, because Phase Plant really made the motion in these magic sounds SUPER easy to do, and effortlessly, too!

1: When Fredrik slices at Merry (Above), he like tears this fabric in reality and the background shifts and the scene warps and it's very sick. For this sound, we've got a standard sword slice, but with some shimmery high ring and warping sounds, and of course a fencing sword swish for effect!
